Summary: I have had the unit for 6 months and I went to update maps and they are $20.00 per quarter or $89.00 a year. Desided to order a new Garmin with FREE lifetime maps. Purchased the 5 inch screen Garmin for $119.00 with FREE LIFETIME MAPS.
At least should have the advertising it wasn't upgrade after fabrication

Summary: The GPS wasn't upgrade, I'm always lost. My motive to buy it was cause relocation in a new and unknown place and it wasn't help me a lot because nobody explained that I had to upgrade later for almost $60 plus.
Summary: I bought this as a second unit to accompany the one I already had but without lifetime map updates and traffic because that is really useful in the rural area I live. The main problem is it also lacks other basic features including the ability to get a different route, I often know that the route chosen isn't the best because I have a basic knowledge of the area but unlike the Maps and Traffic unit, I can't ask for another route. I'd return if it I had that option.
Summary: I purchased this unit for my wife a year ago and can say that it is a very reliable unit. It has made my wife much more confidant in her travels around Phoenix. However, I have had to return this unit twice at my own cost, attempting to upgrade the maps and POI using the latest version of the TOMTOM Home application, each time I attempted to update the maps, the software scrambled the units memory so bad it had to be sent back.
Summary: A lot of there products including the tom tom XXL 550 will not do more then 3 stops at a time so if you are looking for a GPS for work do your home work contact Tom Tom they don't put it on there web sight.
Summary: Works as advertised; however, it could be better. I had has some problems getting it to do what I wanted. You can't conventionally plot your own course and when you take of an alternate course it keeps pestering you until you get far enough for it to figure out where you are going. When it is recommitting, I would love it if there was a mute button that would pop up for one to push!
