Summary: Totally disgusted with the seller. This tom tom caused so many prer oblems. Wasn't picking up in thon satellite. When it did it sent you totally in the wrong direction. Tried to contact the seller wouldn't answer me. Really upset and disappointed. I bought this as a christmas present and I have been badly let down!!
Summary: I first ordered this tem in February and received the wrong model twice. When I reordered for the third time, I waited a week to find out it was out of stock. I have now ordered it from Argos.
Summary: TomTom XL operates very nicely in the UK with the supplied UK maps, which you can update for free for 30 days after purchase. The screen and spoken directions are very clear and easy to follow. So far so good, and when we go on holiday to the USA we can simply buy the US map and load it up, right? Well, no, you can't. TomTom have cleverly made the USA map bigger than the memory of the TomTom XL. So just load a Texas map then? well, no you can't.
Summary: It worked for a while (unsurprisingly, the period while I could send it back) then just stopped working on a trip to Devon when I didn't know where I was going. I then went onto tom tom HOME to restore it and update the map. It tried to charge me £75 for a new map, then crashed and lost all my addresses. Then I went to update the map and tom tom HOME just gave me error message after error message and I gave up It is honestly worse than Useless.
Summary: I bought Tomtom XL Live with a so-called 1 year Free service Live. It worked well enough, but then of course. One must buy. I pay nearly £50 for a year's subscription. They make it very easy for me to pay them. I have an account & password. I receive confirmation of payment & instructions for connection.
Summary: I bought an XL IQ Routes in 2009 as a replacement for one of the original TomToms which had died after about 4.5 years. I passed it on to one of my nephews and replaced it in January 2011 with an XL IQ Routes "Live", which has live traffic info, Google search, weather, etc. From day 1 it was a pain, often rebooting itself several times when it was trying to find a satellite and calculate a new route at the same time.
Summary: This TomTom is the worst product I have bought in ages. I bought it because of the reliability and ease of use of a TomTom that I bought many years ago but I wanted new maps etc and it wasn't cost effective to upgrade the old one. This product is terrible for many reasons and a guy I spoke to in Halfords in July this year told me that he sends back boxes full of TomToms every month because they are totally unreliable.
Summary: I was really pleased with this TomTom when I first got it, soon changed my mind!!! It took ages to find a signal, and quite often wouldn't until it was connected to the car charger. The icing on the cake was when I pressed on the screen to change the volume and the screen cracked. Amazon where useless, just referred me to TomTom who stated that it could only crack if dropped!!!!
European buyers don't buy a TOMTOM on Amazon.co.uk

Summary: This product is available to buy for buyers in Europe (outside the UK). Normally when you buy a product over amazon.co.uk and you ship it outside the UK you receive a socket that fits. Not in the case of TomTom. The car plug that you receive will not fit in a car outside the UK. The STG 10 Voucher also cannot be used by non British consumers because you can only apply it to a UK address.
