Summary: As the subject says quite succinctly, the product does work but getting GPS signals when turning this thing on takes forever. Really disappointed by that. Will be trying an alternative brand next time.
Summary: Nice user interface, easy to use, intuitive, etc. There are some definite pros to this product, but my one major beef with it is that every single time I turn it on, it takes upwards of 5 minutes to find satellites. If I'm running late, I often start driving before the GPS even knows where I am. I know there are satellites in the area, but for some reason the sat nav has troubles finding them.
Summary: Buyers beware, the sellers are sending the wrong product specially OK-GO,i have experience it. Instead of sending XL they sent the smaller one instead. Also it keep on loosing signal, nearly created about two accident already for me,by giving the wrong direction,i will recommend you buy it in the shop instead of internet, the process of returning its a bit complicated and waste of personal time and also not easy to detect faults until use for sometime, bearing in mind the...
Summary: The Sat Nav is more or less the same as the previous one I had - but the holder on the screen is awful. I dont understand why they have chnaged it. It doesnt connect properly and soesnt stick to the window properly. The Sat Nav is too heavy for it and it keeps on falling off! Why did they change it????
did they deliberately make it worse than older versions?

Summary: I recommend you avoid this - it gets a two as it does broadly work, just not nearly as well as the 5-year-old model it replaced. I was using a borrowed tom tom 520. Liked it very much, easy to use, it worked. Then the battery ran down and the unit is unfixable! all data gone, won't even boot. So I have to buy a new one for my uncle and also one for me.
Summary: purchased this model but unfortunately when updating the unit became corrupt, a soft restart failed to rectify this, spoke to tomtom and a nice young lady advised me that there is a known problem with the update software, she did try to talk me through resetting everying, even deleting the files and reinstalling them before telling me they, tomtom, have stopped shipping this meodel until they can rectify the update problem, I purchased the xl classing which updated...
Summary: I brought this item and used it once and yes it was great to use very simple to operate i was very pleased. Until i then plug it into my PC and get a pop up from the Tom Tom site that there is a new map available do you want to download. I then press yes and it downloaded the map, i left it plugged in over night and it didn't download memory and now my TOM TOM has no maps !
Summary: I brought my Tomtom XL over a year ago. For the first 6-7 months I had no problems with it. It took me where I wanted to go, though at times it took me on longer routes. Then suddenly I started experiencing problems such as blacking out of the screen, sometimes the screen would go yellow/green and fuzzy. The other major problem I had was that the lead that connects the the tomtom main device would often become loose which would cut off the power supply.
Summary: TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition Satellite Navigation Unit Europe Having been given a TomTom XXL as a gift I tried it on a trip in East Anglia. While the overall performance was good there was an almost total failure to pick up speed limits. In a journey of some 25 miles it showed the speed limit for about 1 - 2 miles. My previous - and map outdated - Mio had no difficulty picking up the speed limits over this whole route.
Summary: The first Tom-Tom I owned was a Tom-Tom 300. This was a fantastic bit of kit back in 2004; although it had a relatively small screen it was fast, and seemed to pick up satellites quickly. OK, it didn't have speed cameras on, but this was sorted out by me in about half an hour using an internet connection and a bit of nous.
