Summary: They have upated the OS application and the maps so it exceeds the devices internal memory. A good old "#$&! you" from Tom Tom. This is not against the sellers, just the manufacturer and device.
Summary: Well this is actually my first product review out of tons of stuffs I bought from various websites. Basically it caused a huge problem on my vacation at Mexico. I purchased this GPS one week before my 10 days vacation because it claimed preloaded Mexico, US and Canada Maps. And it is important to mention that I bought a used one from kingdeals (AMZ seller) at $ 37.99. So I don't know which one should take responsible for this crap item I got, AMZ, TomTom or Kingdeals.
Summary: After owning a Garmin Nuvi for awhile and having it stolen, I bought the Tom Tom thinking it was going to be similar. It is IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THIS GPS DEVICE!! It is very complicated and not user-friendly at all. I hate this product and currently saving up to buy another Garmin! DO NOT BUY THIS COMPLICATED USELESS PRODUCT!
Summary: I loved this GPS until the charging piece snapped off in my charger in my car. A piece about 3-4 inches snapped off the end of the device and is currently stuck in my car. I contact TomTom and they said I am out of luck and there is nothing they could do. I am now stuck with 100+ in car service repair charges to get the piece out of the electrical charging port. I would not recommend this product or company to anyone.
Summary: I would give this 1.5 stars if I could. I received this as a gift after my garmin died (it was in my backpack and a large book fell on it:( ). I travel a lot. I am in a new city every 4 weeks and most often, it is a new state as well. I depend on my GPS for all my direction as my smart phone isnt that great with maps. The TomTom was supposed to have lifetime up dates and thats why the person bought it for me. I opened the box and tried to use the device right away.
Summary: TomTom XL 350 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator This is advertised as an upgrade to the XL340. It is not a newer model,it has different, less powerful GPS software. If you want an upgrade to the XL340, BUY THIS AT YOUR RISK. When is a GPS upgrade a downgrade? What happens when your GPS is discontinued, are maps updates available? We need only look at Tom Tom to find an answer. Fifteen years ago I used my first TomTom GPS, an application that ran on a Palm Pilot.
Summary: Several months ago I followed the advice of a national vendor and purchased a TomTom XL350 TM. As a technically savvy person with many years of experience using GPS devices, I looked forward to using this new product. Imagine my surprise when this newly released device proved unacceptable. Imagine my greater surprise when I discovered to my dismay that TomTom customer service is not helpful to the point of arrogance. Let me be more specific. Favorites cannot be edited.
Summary: This GPS has worked horribly from the moment I bought it. There is a known problem that the voice cannot be heard if the volume is turned above 80%. It has been known for over 3 months now and hasn't been fixed. The computer voice that is supposed to speak street names stutters and does not announce upcoming turns. I have had to downgrade to a turn-only voice in order to get it to work at all.
Summary: Two problems with this unit 1. The activation code for the lifetime map updates did not work (it had already been used). I called TomTom customer service and they were unable to help. 2. Every time I linked it to my pc I had to reinstall TomTom home. I had the unit for one night and was forced to reinstall TomTom home ~5 times. I returned the product.
Summary: My TomTom x350m crashed after updating on TomTom webb site. After many calls to TomTom problem just got worst.I bought my wife a garmin a year ago no problems I bought and spent more on the tomtom 2 months ago and got crap.
