Summary: But updating maps is a real pain in the but. Limited memory capacity makes it marginal for updating since no expansion slot is provided. Map updates are kluge to the max! Buy a Garmin for easier updates.
Excellent GPS, you just have to be a little tech-saavy

Summary: This was a great deal...lifetime traffic and maps for $100! Tom Tom also has excellent customer service...my traffic connector stopped working within 6 months of owning it and they sent me another one within a week. The traffic option is so helpful and is right on every time.
For the price of this and lifetime maps nobody else had the best price who

Summary: I bought this unit in December 11, 2010 had it for about 4 years the customer service at tom-tom very outstanding no complaints they guide you through every way , I have an Apple computer at the time there was trouble with software now it is 10 times better no complaints now software is way better...
Summary: There's a reason that TomTom in recent years backed off their two year warranty -- because they're no better made than the rest. In fact you could argue that their quality must be in decline for them to reduce their warranty to just one year and, sadly, I can confirm that.
Summary: The spoken directions given by this GPS are sometimes very confusing. For example, "Ahead, stay left". You may think that means to get into the left lane. Not so. It simply means that an opportunity to go right (say, by taking an off-ramp) exists.
Good value for money - Better than TomTom 540 XXL and Garmin 1450

Summary: Would I buy it again? = Yes This is my second TomTom XL 340TM. I have tried Garmin (forgot the model) and TomTom XXL540 Pros - Usability is the best feature of tom tom GPS. Its very easy to use and intuitive (Way better than Garmin) - Personal choice I have to say but this is THE BEST feature why I...
Summary: This review is from: TomTom XL 340TM 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Lifetime Traffic & Maps Edition) (Electronics) I was a dedicated Garmin user until I bought a newer version and it lasted one week before the screen went blank during a trip and repeatedly overheated.
Summary: I've owned 3 TT GPS so far 2of them are TT ONE, the third one is XL340 with Lifetime maps&traffic.Having said that I'm a fan of TT GPS.But I do not like the fact that TT has too many unecessary KEEP RIGHTS KEEP LEFTS while instructing drivers especially while they're traveling on Highways.I agree...
Summary: I've had TOMTOM GPSs before and was looking forward to this one so I was a bit disappointed with these issues: The ETA (estimated time of arrival) is NOT accurate. I have tested this on LOOOONG stretches of highway.
Summary: This is the second TomTom I've had and I like them for the most part. It has features that have worked better for me over the Garmin, but I also like features on Garmins. I have owned a Garmin in the past. Its always easier to remember the things that bother you than what you really like.
