Summary: I received my TOM TOM 340S GPS last night . Before I start listing out the pros and cons let me first tell you why i selected this particular model. I decided to purchase the standard rather then the lifetime updates and traffic updates for the following: 1) first off lifetime update, only applies...
Summary: PROS - great price - easy to use (however the touchscreen is no iPhone) - routing and rerouting works great - saves favorites CONS - internal battery is almost dead after 8 months (must keep plugged in at all time) - limited space (but have had no problem updating maps) - suction mount falls off...
Summary: The TomTomXL340S was purchased as a Christmas gift for my wife, so we had to wait until then to see if the product worked. There was much trepidation about the installation process, having read of the trouble some reviewers went through.
Summary: This GPS is definitely a good buy at $90 Price when I bought it. Everything works great except the fact that the memory is only 2GB and it's not expandable. Lane assist works great for large cities. But to update the maps I had to remove some voices and Maps I didn't need.
Works great, but touch screen sensitivity and speed a little lacking

Summary: Have owned TomTom GPS in some form or another since 2003. I bought the software to install on my Windows PDS and my wife's Palm PDA. I bought the GPS mice separately and it worked great. One Christmas my wife bought me a TomTom One basic model after my GPS mouse got a broken USB connector.
Summary: I have had this GPS over 6 months. If you remove some of the voices it will update fine. It does not always know the tricks around where I live, but is great when I travel. I plan on buying one or similiar for my college freshman son for Christmas.
