Summary: Great for my needs. I hate using map websites that aren't always correct. This little TomTom always gets me where I need to be... The only problem is, I wish it would "re-calculate" a little quicker when I don't obey her...but, typical of a woman...JUST KIDDING LADIES...Love you all..
Tom Tom please post a Best Practice to update these units.

Summary: Since you are monitoring these reviews. I just purchased 2 and don't have a clue how to keep it current after reading all the reviews and problems. I am using Windows 7 on my Desktop.If anyone else can help, please reply or point me the right direction.
Summary: TomTom is probably the best.I have been given a used TomTom XL. Can you charge it from your computer by usb connection or with cellphone charger from inside your house if you have a connection plug socket that fits it power port?
Summary: This GPS system is worth your money and then some. It's relatively easy to use. Sometimes the map takes time to load, but it's bearable. The map is pretty much up to date. There is a small street on my road that is not on Google maps or elsewhere, but it's in the system already.
Summary: I have wanted a GPS for some time but could not afford the full price. I decided to check out the ebay listings and found this neat model for a super price. Its the best thing I ever bought as a treat for myself. So easy to use and I am not really up on electronic devices.
Summary: I just returned from my first road trip with my TomTom 340. I went to an unfamiliar town and found my way everywhere without a problem. The live searches and updates were great. Restaurants, shopping, gas etc... were easy to find and easy to navigate to.
