335T is great but updating maps each year costs about the same as the GPS itself. Suggest you buy a model with Lifetime Maps

Summary: If you expect only to use this for a short period of time, it is great. However, with annual updates for maps costing about what the GPS itself cost, I cannot give this a higher than 3 rating. Having never had a GPS before, I expected that "LIFETIME" included maps. for the 335T, it does not. So I eventually had to fork out a bit more and buy another TomTom GPS with LIFETIME Maps. I wish I had been warned.
Summary: It gets the job done, but isn't very current. I live near an AF base and they are building a lot of new subdivisions. None of them show up in my gps. Need to work on keeping maps updated better.
Summary: Bought this as an aid in navigating the various towns that my job took me to. When I relocated to another state, I may still be wondering around lost if not for my TomTom. Great to not have to pull out a paper map. I would probably love it if I had upgraded to lifetime maps. That will definitely be a requirement of the next one I purchase.
Summary: Over all, I've been happy with this Tom Tom GPS. My old GPS was a Nextar that I received as a gift. It was getting old and didn't have some of the current roads that I use when travelling south. For the price, I thought I would upgrade to this unit with the traffic alerts built in. I read too many complaints about the lifetime map updates to want to mess with that. As far as the operation of the unit, I don't really have many complaints.
