Tomtom 1605TM - great GPS unit but Hopeless Software

Summary: While this is a great GPS unit (in terms of size and directions) it is absolutely hopeless in terms of map updates. This is my second unit that i had to get replaced from amazon and unfortunately it does not update itself. Emails send to tomtom support have been going in thin air without any answer.
Summary: Complete garbage! I've had several older TomTom products that worked well. The older ones used the TomTom Home software. Newer ones use the useless web update instead. I will be returning this unit as it can't seem to find a signal after 1 hour of being outside and not covered by anything.
Summary: Sorry, but I have had a TomTom Go 530 for years and it worked pretty well. My wife bought this 1605 for me yesterday, and it still won't update after being on the computer for hours. I transferred my account to the 1605, so that is not the issue.
Summary: I purchased this device for a trip to Friday. The functionality was not as intuitive as I would have liked compared to Google's GPS on my phone. Now. after 3 months of use the battery has stopped charging. So of course i am now not able to return it so I will have to eat the $118 I paid for it.
Summary: TomTom just updated their maps, now if you would like to have all of the United States & Canada on your gps, you have to purchase a micro SD memory card. I travel to over 30 states, Mexico & Canada for work, either spend more money, or change the maps before each trip.
Summary: My VIA 1605 worked great for about 5-6 weeks. Then suddenly, it went competely bunkers. It now keeps fading into a black/grey window and losing the satellite connection every 3-5 seconds. Rebooted, reseted, updated= Not Working. Majorly disappointed.
Summary: I had some issues with the device as soon as it arrived. I installed the MyDrive app and tried to update the maps under the lifetime map updates. This did not go well. The biggest issue is that the device has no meaningful error messages, the only message it displays is "Something went wrong" I had...

Summary: This device may work beautifully. However, I cannot get rid of my old login for old device nor get that log in to work properly for this device. Whenever I start login, the "mydrive" spins forever and never finishes login.
Summary: Ever since I bought this product all I had was trouble. Takes forever to pick up a signal and when it finally does pick one up it looses it shortly after. Sick and tired of sitting at work with my wife hysterical on the phone that she is lost because the signal went dead!!
