Summary: I bought this to replace a TomTom One XL. I had difficulty connecting the new VIA to my account, and eventually realized that I had to use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla. That was not in the instructions. I also found out that, although advertized to come with maps of the USA, Canada, and Mexico, it does not have enough memory to load the full set of maps. I selected a subset and they loaded is a reasonable amount of time.
Excerpt: I and my brother and sister went together to buy this new unit, the TomTom for my Mom on her June birthday, to replace her older one which had become obsolete and in wich to add newer maps was becoming more costly, to the point that a newer unit was desired. Since my Mom has recieved it, she LOVES it!
Summary: It's a great product. My wife is totally happy with it and I can't ask for more. If it's useful and easy to handle for an anti-geek person as her, believe me, it's really easy to use. It worth every penny.
Summary: This was my first TomTom GPS purchase, and my last. Wanted a gps for my wife to use when she travels to phoenix AZ. I live in New Mexico. So once i recieved this unit, i tried to use it around town to get used to it. However, most locations that i searched for did not come up on this unit. The very few that did come up, i tried to plan a course to those locations and ended up somewhere else. So then i did the recommended map update..
Summary: If I had it to buy over again I would pay a little more for what this one lacks!
Pros: Large screen, light weight comes with free lifetime map updates, faster than my old One third.
Cons: I prefer the old interface like my one third, no free camera updates like my one third, the one free camera update kept receiving errors than ended after one day no easy way to add options, no live traffic and touch screen requires a real firm press to use to where it moves the GPS. And Tomtoms web site states it has a SD slot IT DOES NOT!
