  • Summary: Seemed OK to start with but after a few months the troubles began. After getting fed up of "map update available" alerts which popped up every time I turned on my laptop (grrr), I finally did the update.... and it deleted all my maps in the process.

  • Summary: This is a poor unit in two respects: 1. It is sluggish to respond and takes forever to boot up. It doesn't seem to latch on to satellite signals easily. 2. But by far the biggest problem is the battery charging fault.

shocking software

  • Summary: Absolutely abysmal. keyboard is slow and unresponsive. voice activation doesn't work. no free maps as promised if you don't connect it to a computer before 90 days after first use. Garmin next time I think.

Don't buy one

  • Summary: bought the via 130 europe after many years of perfect service from a start uk/roi. first one wouldn't charge on mains, car or computer so it went back and got a second one. Exactly the same problem with the second one.

I had two and both were faulty

  • Summary: I bought a TomTom and it arrived and the battery would not charge. I returned it and Amazon sent me a second one. This had the same fault and was returned although I had to argue to get my money back. I went to Halfords and bought on that worked.

Poor Quality and Battery problems

  • Summary: The first unit had to be sent back to Amazon because the battery would not charge and it would only run on mains-Judging by the other feedback left this is a common problem. The second unit sent by Amazon has problems with the on/off button in that it will not turn on when I want it to !

This has been a great dissapointment

  • Summary: I believe this unit has a bug in its software in as much that it is sometimes unresponsive, and in addition the speed indication only works intermittently. I have been in contact with TOM TOM and just keep getting the "restore to factory settings" advise, this is rubbish as the fault always comes...
