The TomTom Urban Rider is a GPS device that features an integrated GPS receiver with 20 Channel all-in-view tracking and is powered by a 380 MHz CPU with 32 MB RAM. The unit features a 3.5 inch, 320 x 240 TFT color LCD touchscreen on its 113.2mm x 96.2mm x 52.9mm form factor that weighs 310 grams. The TomTom Urban Rider is powered by an internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery that provides users with up to 5 hours of operating time. It has an optimum operating temperature of - 10 to + 55 °C and is designed in a waterproof (IPX7) form factor that protects the unit against any wet-weather conditions. The TomTom Urban Rider also comes with Cardo scala-rider® wireless Bluetooth® headset for in-helmet spoken instructions. The headset is powered by a battery that provides users with up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 1 week of standby time; a memory card (SD card) with software and maps; a RAM mounting kit and a USB cable 2.0 for PC connection. It is also compatible with 12V motorbike battery power source.

It is a plug and go device and features a 3.5 inch glove-friendly touch screen, TomTom Map Share™ technology, and a RAM mount that lets users attach the unit to the bike. The device also comes with fixed safety camera alerts pre-installed, which help users drive safely and responsibly; Help Me! menu that helps find local emergency service information from hospitals to roadside assistance; TomTom HOME connectivity that allows users to download software, new maps, access free content from the TomTom community and subscribe to services; and Cardo® helmet connection that lets users call and be directed through Bluetooth wireless technology communications. The TomTom Urban Rider features an anti-glare screen and sun visor that is sunlight-readable, has a speed link volume that lets users adjust volume according to speed of bike sot that users get instructions loud ad clear, and comes with an optional car dock which allows users to alternate between the bike and car The RIDER's Bluetooth® connection means users can share content, including itineraries and POIs. Other features on the TomTom Urban Rider include Trip Statistics that lets users keep all the details from heir trip on he device - from mileage to speed; Scenic Route Download which can be downloaded from TomTom HOME or tomtom.com and be shared with other riders; Itinerary planning that lets users plan and share route via TomTom HOME; QuickGPSfix™ which speeds up the time it takes to fix the GPS position to help them drive off more quickly and fast route recalculation so that if a turning is missed, the device can get users back on track.
