Summary: Present for my son as he is a salesman.. slips into his pocket so is always handy when he is on the move around the streets. Life saver for him as he doesn't know north from south. He thinks it's great... enough said...
Excerpt: The TomTom Start2 is a capable sat-nav and GPS for a reasonable price. However, the new features, whilst welcome, are not very extensive, and the current street price is not much less than the launch price, making this still not quite the budget bargain intended. It's good value, but if you're after something really cheap there are less costly alternatives.
Summary: I owned a TomTom One previously and thought it was brilliant so when it sadly stopped working, I thought I'd replace it with another TomTom. I didn't want a fancy one, just a basic one to get me from A to B. Well I shouldn't have bought this one, it's rubbish and very cheaply made. Firstly the sucker to stick it to the windscreen stopped working within weeks and now it doesn't attach and therefore I have to have it in the centre console which is not convenient or safe at...
Summary: Others have had the same problems as me. At times when your driving the map arrow start reading the map upside down or goes from the side. A solution is to turn the satnav upside down but the the other arrow is the wrong way. The second fault is when press some letters it give you the letter next to it even if you do it in the middle .It's so annoying the older sat nat was fine ,but it got lost so I thought I would buy this later one but big big mistake not worth £5.
Summary: Helps navigation a lot, the lane guidance is particularly useful. Whilst the visual countdown to the next turn is more than adequate, an earlier audio countdown would be helpful for the times when a passenger undertakes to monitor the satnav in order to "allow the driver to concentrate on driving". Nevertheless, an excellent aid to safe driving.
Summary: I previously owned a TomTom One which was a lovely little sat nav so when it died after several years of use I plumped for a Tom Tom again. I am not a huge sat nav user as my journeys in general tend to be local and know where I am off to, however, we holiday in this country throughout the year and go on trips out to places which we may not our way to and therefore a sat nav comes in very handy.
Summary: A great improvement on TomTom One. The instructions are a lot clearer and more straightforward, with the lane assist at complex motorway junctions, and the voice giving road names being a great help. The only downside for me was that there is no proper instruction book, just basically a leaflet giving a few brief instructions - so you have to download most information from the website, which is not so practical!
Summary: This is a very adequate product and has already proved very useful. The female voice (which can be changed) is very clear and repeats any change in direction, both when some distance from a change and again when approaching a change and gives a road name to look out for, without being too intrusive. Easy to install.
