tomtom gps, a dated model with low quality touchscreen and just basic features
20 April 2015
Summary: The tomtom just about does its job, and keeps you from swearing at it all the time. The touchscreen sensitivity is very poor, you can't predict if a particular key you pressed has got thro or not. The features are also just about ok, nothing that wows you at all.
Summary: This GPS is compact but not suitable for new drivers . It says just we reached the destination and it does not says whether the destination is on left or right .. It is really uncomfortable whenever you are in a busy road.
Summary: Device ok. Changing the voice impossible. TomTom sending you an e-mail confirmation (with invoice!!) of purchased new voice. You never can transfer this mail with voice to your device. Help from TomTom impossible. No answer !!
Summary: TomTom has discontinued the START 55TM and for very good reason - the "liftetime maps" turn out to mean fourteen months. I bought this in July 20013 and the last map update was this past September. TomTom is still producing maps but they are too large for the memory available.
Only disappointment was the amount of time to find satellites

Summary: Had an older version of TomTom that work very well. Only disappointment was the amount of time to find satellites. This new version is quicker with finding satellites but has much, and I mean much, less options that I found useful, that must have seemed too much for TomTom.
Summary: TomTom is disappointing compared to Garmin. The screen is more difficult to read. Set up is more complicated than Garmin. After using this for a week, I ordered a Garmin to replace it. Similar price and more user friendly.
Why have you streamlined this GPS to the point of being somewhat useless?

Summary: Dear Tom-Tom, Product: Tom-Tom START 55TM 5-Inch GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic & Maps and Roadside Assistance Problem: Why have you streamlined this GPS to the point of being somewhat useless? Actually pretty-much USELESS! Where is the "Itinerary Planning Option?" Why have you removed it?
Summary: I have owned this model for almost one year and I complain about it on every trip, so I am finally replacing it and going back to Garmin. Here are my issues with it... - Every time the route I am on meets another numbered route, the voice tells me to "keep left".
