Summary: I own 2 Tom Tom units, the 45TM & 55TM. Both units don't like highway 17/92 in central Florida. On 17/92 both units will tell me to stay right, 12 to 15 times per minute, regardless if I'm making a right turn, left turn or a U-turn. (annoying and dangerous) Tom Tom customer service recommended multiple soft resets & application software re-installs. This didn't fix the issue.
Summary: If this is your first GPS and you can get through TomTom's strange registration, you'll probably love this. But if you've owned an older model like the 140S you may be disappointed. The best thing about this unit is the display is a whole lot brighter than the older 140S making it great for daytime use but some of the changes have not been for the better in my opinion. I hate it that it won't say turn left or right when I reach my destination.
Summary: Purchased tomtom at local target store back in July of 2013. Worked approximately for the first 30 day with a couple of issues. At first the tomtom started to stutter then when it froze completely. Of course it was outside of the store return period. So I have contacted Tomtom and am working with them will. I will have more of an update after I am able to resolve thru TomTom.
Summary: I deliver pizzas and I don't know this area very well at all so I bought this GPS. It gets me close, but rarely does the map's address and the actual address match up exactly. Some roads have weird numbering systems and that makes this GPS freak out and puts me on the other side of town but I've learned which roads it does that with--and that's really more of a review of TomTom's maps, not the GPS.
Summary: 5 inches is just the right size for a dash top navigation system. The Tom Tom is bright, very easy to read, and very, very accurate. All of it's features work perfectly, and you can't beat the lifetime maps and traffic. It works... it has saved me in the Los Angeles traffic many times. I also like that you can customize it with different voices from Bugs Bunny to George Carlin.
Summary: I work for a luxurious limousine company in Southern California and bought this GPS, because our director took us to training in LA and it was part of his decision making process. I just had to be ready to find my way to get to a list of places without any mistakes to get hired. I stacked the places in the GPS the previous night, and the it didn't work for the last hotel. Our director was a nice guy, and he still hired me.
