Summary: Bought this for son going off to College and it doesn't work properly so be carefull. It gives him false guidance when it does work. Will not buy this again and recommend you look at other selections.
Summary: For the most part, the 50M was easy to set up. The sticky plate that the suction cup is mounted to had to be attached to my windshield even though it said it could be attached to the dashboard as well. Also, my 50M was set up for UK service when it arrived, even after I selected USA as my region.
Summary: I really like the Tom Tom gps. The only issue I have is that it doesn't turn on when you turn your car on. I would prefer it to turn on automatically. My husband has a garmin, and his does that. But otherwise, mine has better directions.
Summary: Wanted to update my 6 year old tom tom, don't use often, first trip out voice was garbled, skipped and repeated words. Often said to turn left when arrow on screen said turn right.Too late to return save your money...back to my old, slow but accurate tom tom
Summary: does what you need it to do. we had trouble trying to program it to avoid a certain route that we knew was crowded, even though it has a "travel via" feature. one time it went into 2D mode and we couldn't get it back into 3D. But the next time we turned it on, the problem had resolved itself.
Not better than old one except lifetime map updating
3 August 2015
Summary: I had an old TomTom gps which needs to purchase for map updating. This product attracted me because of the lifetime map updating. Since I had old TomTom, the usage of the device was pretty similar which was good for me but there was a few inconvenience compare to the old one. 1.
Summary: I bought this and i only use it for when i'm traveling so i passed the window for returning it but it takes atleast 5 minutes to find a satellite and then it keeps losing signal. It also stutters and it tells me more roads not to take than it does to take.
Summary: I wouldn't buy it again, and may yet return it. I've experienced new GPS' from the three majors (Garmin, Magellan, TomTom) in the last month, and I'm universally disappointed in all of them. They all have fatal flaws, some of them universal to all 3.
