Don't buy if you have a Mac, software is useless as is TomTom Support

Excerpt: Apparently TomTom only work with Intel Macs, which I have and it still won't open the software, so although the Satnav itself seems good, its not much use if you can't update the 'lifetime' maps.
Excerpt: I really do like tomtom sat navs and having had a tomtom go 720 for the last 5 years I was really impressed with the product, however it started to look a bit tired and the maps were getting a bit out of date, so I decided to treat myself with a new one. I use my sat nav on a daily basis.
Excerpt: BE CAREFULL WHEN BUYING TOM TOM PRODUCTS AT HALFORDS!.....Because refunds are not available, (exchange only). This is written on the reciept.......(after you've bought the product). Why did the manufacturer of this product decide to put the on/off button at the back of the unit?
Great on first use but not when plugged into computer! Pop!

Excerpt: Brought this for my son. It worked really well travelling to Sheffield and then all downhill from then on. He plugged it into the computer to carry out any updates and that was the end of his sat nav! We are now in the process of trying to get a replacement .
Summary: The product is good. BUT registering for life time free updates is less likely to happen. Doing it on-line is not possible and you have to call help desk in Holland. All promises for a call back to help register gets no call, and e-mails get avoiding responses. the blog sites show it's not uncommon.
Summary: Difficult to attach to any surface other than glass - a problem unless your windscreen is within reach - and the means of securing it is fiddly. The power connection is awkward and it is easy to lose GPS in operation.
Excerpt: I have had a number of Tomtoms in the past and they have always been excellent. Software update on this one failed time after time. I used three different ids on two laptops and it failed every time. I gave up in the end.
