And the worse happened, now it doesn't even charge any more ...

Nerea Martin, Amazon
  • Summary: I cant use it any more, I used it not even 5 times and its dead. The battery was keep dying and it will not last for 20 minutes so i had to drive with the charging cable bothering me. And the worse happened, now it doesn't even charge any more so i have it in my draw and i cant even used it any more. It provably cost me more to repair it that buying another sat nav of lower quality. I used it in Spain and Italy and the maps were really good.

Tragic and very frustrating - TomTom have managed to go backwards!

The Strudwick "book rook", Amazon
6 September 2014
  • Summary: I used to own a TomTom classic XL until some toe rag nicked it. I went for the TomTom Start 25 for the free life time maps. The SatNav works fine for navigation. The problems unfortunately are many 1. It took me 2 hours trying to get the SatNav to connect via my computer windows 7 machine and the TomTom website - in the end I had to call the tomtom call centre where I was instruction to delete files, add files, restart the computer, change browser, start in private mode...

Disappointed

karen bermange, Amazon
23 August 2014
  • Summary: I loved my original tom tom but I felt I needed to update. The new one had a minor fault where the speedometer was well out ( not just a few mph, which you'd expect). I should have sent it back straight away but I needed to use it. Now after just a few uses the device will not turn on at all! I'm very disappointed and I'm now outside the 30 day window for easy returns.

Negative masterpiece of website design

John Frum "by CreditCargo", Amazon
20 August 2014
  • Summary: Hard to overstate just how appalling the website interface for setting this up really is. For reference I have almost 30 years IT experience managing custom software in the media industry. I had the device for 90 minutes before returning it. The online registration and updater procedures in the browser are a masterpiece of ambiguity and misdirection which I can't be bothered to describe.

Volume is way too low, even at maximum volume

macca, Amazon
20 August 2014
  • Summary: Volume is ridiculously low, even at maximum volume. It's ok if you're stationary with no noise, otherwise it's a real struggle hearing the instructions unless you're familiar with the road names, and even then it's not easy. No use if you're talking with someone, have music on, the window down, or aircon on. Called TomTom about it & they told me to download new updates as that would fix it.

Very disappointing

S.King, Amazon
20 July 2014
  • Summary: Not good. Arrived on time but has not worked properly and as I type this review I am about to return it. The "no maps found" problem is a problem that anyone can find out about by searching that problem in any search engine. The volume and consistency of the blogs about the "no maps found" problem speak for themselves. This should be a high tech, problem solving device working with ease. Sadly I did not find it so.

Very Poor

HevBird , johnlewis.com
3 July 2014
  • Summary: Bought to replace ageing TomTom 1, but wish I had not bothered. The interface is sluggish and outdated, it takes typically 10 to 15 minutes to acquire satellites when turned on and loses them 3 to 4 times during a journey forcing unscheduled stops to wait for it to catch up.

STAY WELL AWAY !!!

Jon, Amazon
28 May 2014
  • Summary: My advice is stay well away from TomTom sat navs. They used to be a top quality product that lasted for years. Unfortunately they, like a lot of other major companies, have starting cutting corners, using cheap parts that don't last. After my first TomTom 25 went wrong,I eventually got it replaced,(although looking back it seems it was more hastle than it was worth),and now my replacment has also gone wrong after less than 18months.
