Disappointed somewhat, but do like the lifetime maps feature

Summary: Still have an issue with the automatic start feature. And it does not have a numerical compass point readout. What? Disappointed somewhat, but do like the lifetime maps feature. Ask me how I like it in six months.
Conclusion: As an entry level SatNav the TomTom Start 20 is a good device and a reasonable performer. Bearing in mind that it is an entry level device then the missing features are not critical to the targeted market.
The Best Affordable GPS on the Market with Free Lifetime Maps!

Summary: I had previously owned the 3.5 inch screen TomTom One 130. It worked great but the downside was that you had to purchare USA map updates for $79.95 a year which includes four quarterly updates. That becomes very expensive over time.
Summary: I purchased the Tomtom Via 1400 while in language school in France. It served us well in a car trip through northern Italy. On returning to the USA I purchased a North American map set on the Tomtom website to use for the 10-weeks we would be here before heading to our mission in Burkina Faso west...
Summary: I was replacing a 3 year old TomTom XXL as buying this unit on sale was about the same as getting new maps. This unit has lifetime maps. What I say here may be of most help to those who are also replacing an older unit.
Good product but room for improvement for setting it up

Summary: The product is OK, a GPS with basic features and definitely in line with my expectations. I had some issues in setting up my account and downloading the latest version of USA map on the Tom Tom web site and i had to open a case to address it.
