Summary: I brought the Pro kit, used the Sat Nav to go to the Manx TT, couldnt use the Headset as it wouldnt charge, Sat Nav worked well, charge lasted 5 hours so made it to the camp site, The Ram mount works well, no issues with the actual unit and mount, TOM TOM should include the active mount in this kit, screen is clear and not issues in daylight, I have returned the unit now for a refund as I think I will buy the cheaper Rider 2 for £220 and add a better headset, 3 stars due...
Summary: I've only just received this so haven't had chance to test it out but before you buy, be aware that this cannot be charged while riding unless you purchase additional products. The holder supplied is exactly that and no more although there is a chargeable version available from Tomtom for £45 (others are available but appear to be even more expensive).
Summary: The sat nav its self is fine but there a problem with the docking station the pins rattle out and the docking station falls apart. It seems to be a common problem and is well talked about on tomtom forums. I got intouch with tomtom and they sent me a brand new up graded recharging station. Well done tomtom support.
Summary: Firstly can I thank Amazons Customer Service which has been absolutely First Rate, The Tom Tom Rider was bought for my Husband for Christmas,as he soon discovered there was a fault with the Scala Headset Supplied with the PRO VERSION I purchased, it would not charge, so the item including the Tom Tom was posted back to Amazon and a replacement came in the post 24 Hours later, which turned out to be fine and fully functional.
Summary: After much research reading about this and other sat navs, this appeared to be a reasonable buy, and cheaper than the Garmin most of my friends use. The first problem is the handlebar kit. The thread in the bolts provided won't fit the brake or clutch on a Goldwing 1500. The slide in bracket where it fixes to the bike has no wiring connections so you can't power it unless you further purchase another bracket that has the wiring to enable power to the unit, and that costs...
Summary: I have not owned a GPS before and I was quite surprised at the crudity of the functionality provided by the device. Mounting was a pain (on an Aprilia RSVR) but was achievable with the included kit with some imagination. I was very surprised that it was not possible to define a route on a computer and download it: apparently this is possible on Garmin. (My fault for buying quickly with insufficient research).
Sehr gutes Navigationsgerät - sehr schlechte Halterung

2 July 2011
Summary: Ich habe den Rider 2nd Ed.
