Summary: Yes, TomTom One is a great gadget. It's small, lightweight, compact and most importantly AFFORDABLE. And I love the fact you can download John Cleese's voice to be your nav guide (for US$20!). My one issue is that it navigates using a "how the crow flies" mentality.
Summary: Pretty good basic product. But when I tried to get another free voice that I had a promotion code for, it had expired. Not sure why. Also, sometimes streets that have been around for 6+ years do not show up. Very frustrating. Acurate 75% of the time.
Summary: Good qualities: * Touch screen is intuitive * 3D and 2D views * Clear directions instructions * Compass (extrapolated from direction of drive) Bad qualities: * Effective map size is small: In 2D view it's hard to read street names * Annoying bugs: "Avoid Highways" does not work.
Summary: I knew what I was getting when I bought the ONE. It's a fairly basic, simple to use navigation device. It definitely will get you from point A to point B if that is all you are interested in. Whether or not it takes the best possible route to your final destination is another story.
I would not buy this product after the bad experience

Summary: Update, After using it for more than a month. I have less favorable opinion on this product. It freezes 3 times within one month. You have to use a pin to push through a small hole to get it response again. I was on the road yesterday and it freezed on me.
Summary: 5 stars for the GPS unit but 2 stars for the maps. I really liked this device...the size, shape, display, and features. Everything worked very well. It was very easy to setup and use right out of the box. But I had to return it. The maps were terrible.
Excerpt: I have owned this model for a few years now. It has done a good job generally but it is now starting to show its age compared to newer models. The advantages of this model are: It is compact, it detects all speed cameras, the display is clear, the sounds are crisp, the voice is clear to hear, it...
Good if nothing else is available, perhaps for first timers!

Excerpt: TomTom One INTRODUCTION I have a number of SatNavs which I use on a fairly regular basis, but unfortunately this is probably my least favourite. It's quite a basic unit, with a number of nice features but unfortunately there are a few technical issues that I have experienced.
Excerpt: i do like the tom tom, just think the tom tom always take you the long way round. i cant understand that part of it and its so annoying when you know if it went another way it would take at least ten minutes off your journey.
