Summary: I've just received the XL-S and haven't had time yet to use but I am sure I will like it based on specs. However, I bought it "New" from Amazon to make sure that I could download the latest map update for free (refurb devices don't provide for that).
Summary: Comments about TomTom ONE XL-S Automobile Navigator: While on a tour one truck had this, the other didn't. While mostly good, it made enough mistakes for it to earn the nickname Dum Dum. For example the time it said I was at a restaurant when I was parked in front of an empty field.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Improves Experience
Summary: Overall, not a bad GPS, but there are a few quirks. 1.The voices tend to mispronounce some of the city names. Often, its more humorous than troublesome, but this also transfers to street names. This was more noticeable in California, where Spanish names seem to be more difficult.

Summary: The TomTom ONE XL-S is a good product with a few annoying quirks. It features a widescreen display and text-to-speech feature (announces street names), which are among its strong points. But I also use a Garmin Nuvi in my wife's car, and it has several features that the TomTom lacks.
Summary: I have this and used side by side with a Garmin 200 W for several weeks before returning the Garmin. Overall this is a good product but a few annoying bugs keep it from being great...here are the pros and cons Pros It finds the satellites quickly and keeps the signal.
