Summary: i prefer the tomtom over many other gps units, because it has 3 separate 'speed alerts', once tells you if you're going over the speed limit (that you need to set the first time your on a road), the second tells u if you're going over a 'set speed', and the third 'dims the display' when over another set speed... AWESOME!!! haven't got a speeding ticket since... the v4 is smaller and more compact, and requires different mounting brackets than the v3...
Summary: I think the tom tom 1 V4 is a very good unit, it does the job and is not hard at all to figure out. It does'nt have all the bells and whistles that your more expensive models have but for know more than I use it for like finding jobsites finding out of town places points of interest and the sporting events for the kids its perfect for our family if anything ever happens to it I would get another one just like it.
Slow start up time but otherwise excellent entry level tom-tom, do you really need anything else?

Summary: Had an old tom-tom one which got nicked and really struggled without one for the month afterwards- scary how much i relied on it to get me to new places without even realising! Was toying with the idea of getting the new garmin with built in tv- then saw the tom tom one for a third of the price. The new tom tom one has a better design than the old one- the built in suction cap to attach to the wind screen works really well and hasn't fallen off once (unlike the old one).
This Tom Tom is worth the money and in my experience its worth paying extra for a well known brand

Excerpt: I have owned the Tom Tom One Version 4 for the past 12 months and have found it nothing but brilliant. I previously owned a very cheap sat nav and I can honestly say I can definitely notice the difference. I don't really know a whole lot about sat nav's but the difference I noticed was amazing - the cheap sat nav took ages to find a satellite signal and the routes it took me on were horrendous.
