Summary: Not a bad deal, I could have gotten the same one off Craigslist for 3 dollars more without the wait. I thought this one would be a little cleaner than it was. It works perfectly, but is pretty roughed up and the battery is shot. There is some definite heavy scuffing on the body of the GPS, BUT..
Summary: Some nice touches and the new suction device that connects the satnav to your Windscreen is an excellent addition. Can't really see that many new additions to the "latest" maps though. Sheffield City Centre for example is still nothing like the new one way system that has been employed.
Summary: Good Points * Shows you the quickest route based on current traffic flow. * Locates the nearest petrol station. * Shows accurate distances between speed cameras. Bad Points * Sometimes takes long to react e.g.
Summary: As already reported, The Tomtom is great, easy to use etc - although the speed camera and speed limit database are not up to date. Good idea too to have Mapshare, whereby users can record and upload corrections.Battery life is very poor and it tends to freeze from time to time.
Summary: I'm reviewing this very late in the day, so that it goes from my 'please review' page. It was great and I've changed cars to an inbuilt system which broke, so I went back to TomTom for a time. The TomTom in car is now fixed and these sytems are very good.
Summary: My overall experience with the Tom Tom is that pretty much like Garmin it gets the directions wrong. Today alone, this SatNav tried to send me up 2 illegal roads and suggested a right turn that would have gotten me killed or at very least arrested and section under the mental health act.
Summary: The Tomtom itself is great, easy to use etc - although the speed camera and speed limit database is not up to date. Good idea too to have Mapshare, whereby users can record and upload corrections. BUT ..... Macintosh users are invited to download Tomtom Home V 2.2 to their computer, and update.
Summary: Will I have used tom tom devices for a number of years and been very happy with them, this device is no different although a little disappointing in some respects. The device is well put together and solidly built.
Summary: Nice little gadget. Gives clear and precise directions. Re-routes very quickly. Has a tendency to avoid major routes, instead sending you down minor roads which I assume are marked as national speed limit.
