Summary: Not a bad deal, I could have gotten the same one off Craigslist for 3 dollars more without the wait. I thought this one would be a little cleaner than it was. It works perfectly, but is pretty roughed up and the battery is shot. There is some definite heavy scuffing on the body of the GPS, BUT.. the screen is nice and clear. I really wish I had spent the extra 20 bucks for a brand new one... Not a bad deal all in all.
Summary: As already reported, The Tomtom is great, easy to use etc - although the speed camera and speed limit database are not up to date. Good idea too to have Mapshare, whereby users can record and upload corrections.Battery life is very poor and it tends to freeze from time to time.
Summary: I'm reviewing this very late in the day, so that it goes from my 'please review' page. It was great and I've changed cars to an inbuilt system which broke, so I went back to TomTom for a time. The TomTom in car is now fixed and these sytems are very good. So many complain about maps, but really if you use common sense and updates, they are very helpful on busy roads.
Summary: The TomTom has taken me to the middle of housing estates when the post-code entered was 2 miles away and it fails to hold a charge, but I didn't pay much for it as a refurbished item so it is OK, but not any better than that.
Summary: Used this for over a year. The processor of this device is incredibly slow, you'll often find yourself having to stop the car waiting for it to calculate the route. The usb plug/socket interface is poorly designed making the plugging of the cable a mission! It's easy to break the cable because of this. When you haven't used it for a while it takes several minutes to become operational once plugged, and you have no hint as to when is it ready to be switched on.
Worth buying once it has dropped in price somewhat

Excerpt: I was forced to buy a TomTom One v4 (mine says 4EE0.001.03 on the bottom) when my last TomTom (so ancient that the man in the shop hadn't got any chargers, died unceremoniously with a whining noise whilst on holiday. My new one cost £129.00 In its favour, it's much slimmer, and comes with a sucker that helps attach it to the windscreen. Even with the sucker on it, you can now put it in your pocket although it's a tight fit.
Summary: Good Points * Shows you the quickest route based on current traffic flow. * Locates the nearest petrol station. * Shows accurate distances between speed cameras. Bad Points * Sometimes takes long to react e.g. when the sound is off and you are relying on the green arrow to show you the exit off a roundabout or motorway it can take so long that you passed the exit that you were supposed to take or are so near to the exit that it's too late to indicate as you may cause an...
Summary: + nice and small, works ok, typically TomTom clear screen, ability to remove annoying voices. New mount is brillant compared to my previous v2. - useless for business travellers who require business park POIs as they aren't there. Battery life nowhere near as stated and it doesn't hold it's charge when not in use. NO SD CARD slot for maps - why???? You have to remove from the mount to store in it's dedicated case - this is going to wear out the clips rapidly.
