Excerpt: The new Tomtom one gps 3rd edition is a pretty new offering by the company that uses almost the same features as the one but improves upon those a lot. I got this GPS as a gift and I did love a lot of things about it, this is simple plug and play and you can take the system out of the box and mount it on your dashboard. All you need to do in order to use the device is press the navigate to button on the user interface and your ready to go after you type in your address.
Summary: great gps for the money. bought as a replacement for one exactly like it.picks up satellite signal well. fairly easy to customize with your own picture for startup screen and navigational arrow.
TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS unit is very simple to use and affordable.

Summary: I have used GPS's before but have never owned one. I recently purchased a TomTom One 3rd Edition. The unit is very easy to use and has all the bells and whistles that one might find essential and lacks other options that are, well, "optional". The speaker is very loud at it's maximum setting and does a great job telling you which lane you need to be in (volume is adjustable).
Summary: Tom Tom One 3rd Edition is a nice small unit. I used it on my way to work after I received it,( just to see how it works), and the directions it gave me were ok, not the fastest route though. It does recalculate your route if you go a different way then the unit shows which is a great feature if you are driving somewhere new to you. The volume is a bit too low and the screen is easy to see/read. Over all not a bad device.
Summary: My wife gave me one for Christmas last year -both for use in the U.S. and in Canada (as we were headed there the following June). Fantastic little device. I don't know about the prblm someone posted with not getting a free map upgrade after a week- mine was updated over a month later, even though I'd checked when I first got it, at no charge. In fact, I've been so satisfied that upon having to come to the U.K.
Summary: There are issues, some errors (like "keep left" when the exit to I-270 is actually on the right), British English (like "motor way" for interstate or other limited access highways). Nevertheless it is a convenient device, very helpful, but I would recommend consulting a map before you use it, because it can detour you to a longer route. The fatal point is, the map upgrade is $99, while you can get a new one (presumably with an upgraded map) from Amazon for $137.
Summary: I've had my TomTom GPS for about a year now and I have no idea how I ever traveled without it. Before purchasing my TomTom, I used the GPS on my cell phone. Typically this would freeze up, be extremely delayed or quit working at a critical time during my journey. Now with my TomTom I am confident that I will be able to arrive to my destination without any frustration. The screen is very sensitive and unlike many touch screens it never malfunctions.
Summary: Just got the unit in time for a big road trip so I got to test it out! First, if you're wondering about the refurb units there wasnt a scratch on mine anywhere. It just looked like the box had been opened. Now I DID find similair pricing elsewhere for the same unit, but since I dont have to pay tax, its cheaper here. If you're wondering if there's a difference between the cheaper units and the more expensive (even among the Tom Tom units), there is.
