Very Disappointed and Dissatisfied With Product.I wish I had not purchased.

Summary: Even if I charge the GPS overnight and it is plugged into my power source in my car, it constantly shuts off due to no power in the battery. This happens at the worst times and won't come back on unless I charge it for hours. It is totally undependable. I think either the product itself or perhaps maybe this paticular unit is very close to being useless. I have wanted to throw it right out the window at times I am so unhappy with it.
Summary: Do not do business with this company. I just bought this product and have had nothing but trouble with map updates and their technical support department. Their solution to everything is try and sell you upgrades and then you discover you have to purchase hardware updates to use the upgrades. They are the most disreputable company I have ever dealt with and have a total lack of customer service mentality. Be warned that these units come with very outdated maps.
Summary: I bought this one for my daughter's 16th birthday so she could find her way home. I should have stayed with what I already have. My Garmin works great but the Tom Tom is the worst I have ever seen. While driving down the road, it starts alarming and saying you on the wrong side of the road. The routing takes you completely out of the way. It also loses synch routinely.
Summary: TomTom shipped a large quantity of these knowing they are defective. Every time you turn it on it locks up in a White Screen of Death (WSD) and you must use a paper-clip or some other pointy object to press the reset button. Mine was like this, my brothers and apparently as many as a thousand others according to several references I found when I searched the internet. Yes, Tomtom claims they will replace these with new units if you send it back and wait a week.
Summary: I have had many GPS over the last 5 years and am not new to GPS technology. I was shocked and surprised that there is no way to make the zoom "stick" as a personalized setting. After a few seconds, the screen zooms back in to an internal preset distance of about 1/2 mile. I find this rather annoying and completely unacceptable. If I want to set a 2 mile radius and make it stick, why doesn't TomTom let me?
