Summary: Overview With the advent of faux-GPS available on Smart Phones today, many people, including myself, believed the stand-alone GPS device to be obsolete. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Excerpt: I have heard so many people talking about their “TomToms” over and over again that I just had to give it a try. I bought a TomTom 3rd edition from the store last week and found it superbly fantastic. I was always against any kinds of GPS’s and stuck to …
Excerpt: TomTom ONE 3rd Edition has been my constant companion for the last two years. It’s the best out there for the price! It is an entry level GPS with the basic features one might need for car navigation, and more. Firstly, the GPS is responds pretty fast in capturing current …
Summary: What a great tool to have. I use it both when I know exactly where I'm going (to check TomTom and see if I agree) and when I don't know where I am. TomTom gets me where I need to go on every occasion. It screwed up in Boston so I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars.
Summary: Do not do business with this company. I just bought this product and have had nothing but trouble with map updates and their technical support department. Their solution to everything is try and sell you upgrades and then you discover you have to purchase hardware updates to use the upgrades.
Summary: I own TomTom One for several months already and I am disappointed. First of all, maps in NJ/NY area are not accurate. On numerous occasions TomTom One instructs me to turn left against the sign "No Left Turn". After three months of use the battery does not hold charge for more that 15 minutes.
Summary: We bought it a few weeks ago and love it. It tells you where and when to turn. If there is a multiway intersection it highlites the correct turn in red. So you know you bear right instead of a sharp right. My wife gets lost very easily and is afraid to go anywhere.
Summary: After being led astray one too many times by Mapquest directions (not to mention how hazardous it is for me to try and drive and read directions simultaneously), I finally gave in and ordered the Tom Tom One GPS system. I gave the Tom Tom One the ultimate baptism by fire.
Summary: The TomTom's functionalities are reported to be accessible through their "TomTom Home" application that you can download from their website. The "Operate My One" functionality (most important function) does not work on Mac's.
Summary: I have had my TomTom One 3rd Edition (TT1/3)since November. I LOVE IT. And to think I almost bought a Garmin! I am from Ontario Canada and since early March I have been doing deliveries in rural areas of the Great Lakes states. My wife made me a large "bean-bag".
