Summary: There is no compass designation,i.e., you never know if you are going north, south or what. No map view from above to give an overview of the roads in the ares - I liked using this with my previous GPS navigator when I was just out sight seeing without a predetermined destination; all views are street level with 1/4 mile [max] view of what is coming up.
Summary: Bought this product for my mother, who lives abroad. Since the memory is small, you have to delete the installed maps to install new ones, even if new maps as small. You cannot use maps you have bought for other tomtom you bought, because tomtom does not allow (you have to use ther "tomtomhome" software for that and maps are not compatible).
Summary: I decided it was time to upgrade my nav device. I have a 3 year old Tom Tom One that has served me well. Instead of paying $99 to upgrade the maps on my old device, I decided to spend an extra $50 and get the 140S. Out of the box the device worked great I was very happy with the size features and speaker volume. I then made the mistake of connecting it to my computer to check for any updates and backup the device.
