Great but not a portable - Suction Cup does not work
17 March 2010
Summary: Having been an owner of a Tom Tom One XL, I was happy to see a smaller version that I could take on business trips. I was exited to see the new lane features and verbalizing the street names. However, I could not be more disappointed with my latest Tom Tom. 1. The suction cup sticks about twice.
Summary: This unit is very unreliable. It permanently loses the signal 50% to 60% of the time that it is in use. Obviously one cannot count on it for navigation with that lack of dependability. A big disappointment.
Summary: Before you buy this, or any other Tom Tom product, note that they provide absolutely no repair services after the warranty expires. My unit stopped working two weeks after the warranty expired.
Summary: Have you ever seen that scene in Office Space where they go all gangster on the Copy Machine because it keeps fouling up? Thats how this GPS makes me feel. I was warned by a few people that the life of a Tom Tom is very short because dropping it a few times in your car is enough to break it.
Summary: This GPS was pretty easy to use from the start. We live in a rural area. We were directed to go down a gravel road we never use, so there may be a few glitches. Overall, it was a great deal and easy to put to use.
