Summary: I recently purchased this used, like new device over a month ago. Unfortunately i was not getting a gps signal no matter how long i left it on. One time i left it running for an hour and 30 minutes while my friend used his cell phone for us to navigate and still no signal from tomtom. i was very disappointed because until then i really liked this device it was perfect for me . now i'm not sure what to buy, garmin, magellan or another tomtom.
Summary: It may not have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive model, but it gets you from A to B, and that's really all that matters. A great buy for $60! One odd thing... if you leave it plugged in too long, it goes to a "safety lock" mode that can't be released without unplugging it and leaving it for a while...
Summary: This was a nice purchase. The product came really quick and it was packed nice. It included everything the description said it would which I was pleased with. The only complaint I have is that the unit is a bit small but I get what I paid for. It serves it's purpose without any additional complaints from me.
Summary: I noted in the packaging feedback that this was poorly packaged and that may be the reason for my problems. I charged the TomTom, then connected it to my PC for what turned out to be a 2-day marathon. Fortunately, I followed the suggestion of first backing up the device. I downloaded my free map update and waited for it to install. And waited. Finally went to bed. Woke up to find it had aborted. Restored from backup and removed the original map.
Summary: Overall, the TomTom is great for rural areas and it is very easy to use however, this particular model takes an inordinate amount of time (more than 8-10 minutes) to acquire a signal which is a real detriment if you have to get there quickly. Keeping the equipment on all the time does little to help since the vehicle (ambulance) is parked in a metal roof covered garage.
Nice features for the price but a flaky touch screen

Summary: This unit is small and light and has some very nice features for the price. The mount is compact and seems sturdy, but I hope the "neck" doesn't break someday -- it looks rather thin. The mount detaches so you can carry the unit more easily in your pocket, but sometimes it has a tendency to snap off when you are adjusting the unit on your windshield. My only other experience with a GPS is with a Garmin that is three or four years older.
