Summary: Excellent ease of use coming out of the box, especially if you get the preloaded. Very unclunky looking and as discrete as you can expect from an aftermarket. 3D view is a real plus. No it doesn't give the most direct directions but I didn't know where I was going anyway.
Summary: The Tom Tom GO is an excellent product. With the preloaded maps there's almost no setup required, and it's very easy to use. It works as well or better than any of the original equipment GPS systems provided in automobiles.
Summary: Well, I have to admit really falling in love with this device over the last week. The reason I bought it is actually because of third-party software package provided by a company called Equinux that makes the TomTom Go Mac OSX compatible.
JULY 14 UPDATE- Vastly Improved, can easily recommend
Cheshire Cat, Amazon
12 September 2013
Summary: **UPDATE JULY 14** Finally, updates have transformed the 600 into a really good, easy to use satnav. TomTom seemed to have actually listened to the criticism ( deserved at launch) and reacted by upgrading the softwRe repeatedly to address the failings.
Summary: This is an impressive-looking item, with a big screen and slim profile. It comes nicely packed in a colourful box, containing instruction leaflet, long USB cable, and windscreen mount. Mine arrived fully charged and ready to go, but that may be because mine was a review model.
Summary: Our TomTom Go 1000 series came with a USB charging cable which can be used connected to the computer or in the car via the adaptor. However, the TomTom(s) take a long time to fully charge and we found it difficult to do 'off charge' planning.
Summary: It works! It is a case, what can I say? Very sturdy, and if you wear spectacles you will perhaps know the "snappy" metal cases you sometimes get/got. Well this is much the same. I certainly feel that my Tom Tom is securely protected when it is in the case. Very good.
