Summary: Excellent ease of use coming out of the box, especially if you get the preloaded. Very unclunky looking and as discrete as you can expect from an aftermarket. 3D view is a real plus. No it doesn't give the most direct directions but I didn't know where I was going anyway. I'm still ahead of the game. For the bad news, screen washout is not just an annoyance.
Summary: The Tom Tom GO is an excellent product. With the preloaded maps there's almost no setup required, and it's very easy to use. It works as well or better than any of the original equipment GPS systems provided in automobiles. And because it is not original equipment it is unencumbered by liability-minimizing function locks present on some car systems (for example one car maker's GPS system doesn't allow anyone to enter a navigation destination when the car is in drive.
Summary: Well, I have to admit really falling in love with this device over the last week. The reason I bought it is actually because of third-party software package provided by a company called Equinux that makes the TomTom Go Mac OSX compatible. This software is not included, but it's easy to find on the web. It's this software packages, callled Tam Tam, that makes the TomTom Go, to my knowledge, the first, truly MAC OSX compatible car GPS.
Summary: A wonderful development. I had an older TomTom and this is a revolution. I hesitated when I read some reviews about the limited menus. The menus are simple and time saving. The address search is quick and shows the points of interest at the same time. The only negative point is calculating distances between cities along the route is hugely underestimated, when you do actual road planning, the result is much higher mileage. Looked like an estimated air dustance!!.

JULY 14 UPDATE- Vastly Improved, can easily recommend

12 September 2013
Summary: **UPDATE JULY 14** Finally, updates have transformed the 600 into a really good, easy to use satnav. TomTom seemed to have actually listened to the criticism ( deserved at launch) and reacted by upgrading the softwRe repeatedly to address the failings. The maps are now clearer, routing options now allow easy input of variations, you can save favourite routes and , in simple terms, it 'just works' now as a easy to use reliable satnav.
