Summary: I upgraded from a Go750 LIVE and expected to get a better product. Very disappointed. No Fuel price service and the most rubbish mounting system I have ever experienced. I use the system on every journey and therefore have a semi-permanent vent mounting set-up. The TomTom offering for this device is basic to say the least. Not worth trying. I have modified the old mounting system to fit the new device but the power connection is real pain.
Summary: Not sure about this product, at first it had failure with the software only to find an article on BBC about the problem. It has not been the best purchase to date, something not quite right with this.
Summary: I have now been using this SatNav for two years. I use it every day on a round trip of 60 miles to and from work plus longer trips on weekends and holidays etc. I like the design of the device and the large screeen but it seems to come with a lot of niggling problems which completely spoil the experience of using it.
Summary: Hi, We have bought the Go LIve 825 and are disappointed again with the quality of the TomTom products. There is always something with TomTom. This time it is the charger that does not stay plugged in in the car and unless you constantly push it back in, it is impossible to charge. To make this issue even more irritating, if the charger is not in, the TomTom automatically shuts down after 10 seconds.
Summary: Wow what can I say? When it works it's generally very good but there are a ridiculous number of problems with it. I won't bore you with all of them but will mention a few points. We used this in France and Spain this summer and found the google live search option very good - it enabled us to find hotels, petrol stations and restaurants at will.
Summary: Where to start, the speed camera data does not update automatically whilst unit is being used as stated in the sales blurb, speed limits on many roads are inaccurate i.e unit says 60mph, limit is actually 30mph or vice versa for a newly purchased (and updated on the day i got it)piece of equipment the road mapping leaves a lot to be desired many roads built or altered in the last few years are not up to date!!
Summary: My first Go Live 825 that I ordered never turned up which was a great start to my expereince with this unit. The replacement then duly arrived which didnt work properly. Whilst I am sure this unit is generally a good sat nav, the problem is that it does not have a light indicator showing when the unit is charging. My particular replacement unit had a dodgy USB connection and as a result would not accept a charge from the mains or car battery.
Summary: This is my second TomTom sat nav and probably my last. If you are thinking of buying TomTom consider other makes first. I can't recommend any in particular as I haven't the experience of them but research, research, research. My main gripe is battery life. It is awful. Less than 2 hours before recharge, which is inadequate for any journey of note, so you have dangling cables very quickly. The research I did before buying said 3 hrs. It isn't.
Summary: I got the 825 to replace a stolen TomTom Go Live 540. It has been simplified, and some of this is good news, some bad. First the good: the maps are much more up to date and know about more speed limits, so you get warned if you miss a sign obscured by a tree, a large truck, or the jungle of other elf and safety notices.
