Summary: Having had TomTom for around ten years, thought I'd try a Garmin. Lasted two days and hated it. Then bought the Go Live 1005 and several months in , I am very pleased with it. Like all sat navs, it won't know all the little shortcuts that you do, but if you are unsure, or in a totally new area, a sat nav will save an awful lot of time and hassle. I particularly love the live traffic. Not always 100%, but generally gives a pretty good indication of where problems are.
Summary: We chose this sat nav rather than buying Europe maps and traffic updates for our existing sat nav, and with 3 years traffic included it was a good price. We used it on our holiday in France and it was brilliant, easy to program, picked up the signal quickly and got us where we needed to go with no hassle. The traffic also worked perfectly too. We had no issues with it at all. I also liked the magnets to enable you to attach it easily to the holder.
Summary: I am a veteran of two previous TomToms and this one is the best so far. So easy to use. Routes are an improvement over earlier machines. The unit starts up very quickly and produces a route quickly too. Also, if a turn is missed, it recalculates very quickly to allow you to act on the next available turn. The back up and update software has worked flawlessly for me.
Summary: As a user of the TomTom one for a number of years this is an upgrade and is as easy to use as the previous sat nav.The added refinements also are of extra benefit and should fit the bill nicely.
Summary: Never get lost again with my mate TOMO I put in the name of an obscure 3 house village in deepest France and it took me straight there no postcodes etc imputed just the name of the village The spoken directions are a great help too
