Summary: When I first used this system, I was delighted by the integration of services functionality. However, I've found map updates and services costs are very high and offer poor value for money.I am also shocked by the inaccuracy of certain aspects such as speed restrictions in even the latest map updates. Many users, including me, report battery life issues which appear to be related to poor software design and implementation.
Summary: Firstly, it didn't work. Wouldn't download the maps, why do TomTom send them out without maps, etc? I spent several hours trying to link the SatNav with my account with TomTom and trying to download the maps. Secondly - it's big. Huge. Wider than my hand, and although I'm a woman I have working hands.... 5.5 by 4.5 inches, so not at all suitable for a small car.
Summary: Went TomTom as the Garmin we had before had a really bad search facility. Indeed, the TomTom has a great search, and the Live information is very useful at busy times. BUT, battery packed in *just* out of warranty, which is extremely annoying and totally avoidable. I've read around and loads of people have the same problem.
Summary: When it worked the Live Services facility was excellent. The problem is, with me anyway, the programme is totally unreliable. I renewed it in July for around £50 on line, since when it has never worked on a car journey. When I connect it to the PC and the tomtom site for "updating" it works for a very short while. Then the device tells me in varying messages that Live Services is unavailable. One of these gives an error code and told me to "Please try again soon.
Summary: The new range of Tom Tom's now connect as a 'device' rather than an external drive. I couldn't get this to connect so Live services and the map updates couldn't be used, as a result ive returned this product. After speaking to Garmin theirs still connects as an external drive, so I have just ordered a lifetime maps & lifetime digital traffic from a different supplier. Other than that the unit is sleek, good graphics hence the two stars. otherwise its useless to me.
Summary: I bought this as my 4th TomTom product since their very first, thinking it would an improvement and the flagship device at this price. WRONG! Still laggy whilst driving on tight roads. Battery life still poor. Software has changed for the worse. e.g Too many touches to add the current location as a favourite. Simple to do things from previous versions are just too many touches/screens away.
Summary: I've had this model for 2 years now, which means several things:- 1. I seem to be one of the lucky ones - ie It still works! 2. I know it (and TomTom) pretty well. 3. I must like it or I would have given up by now! All those things are true. It has been plagued with minor annoyances (like locking up for 5 mins in traffic) and a dodgy battery. I hate speaking to Tomtom with any problems, as they have the worst technical support and customer service I've come across!
OMG - I really didn't think any company could do something this awful !!!

Summary: I am truely baffled how someone hasn't lost their job at tomtom ! trying to get a new unit to work with their update service is the most horrible user experience I have ever had. How have the developers not asked someone to come in and then watch them try to use it. I honestly hope the people who write this rubbish get fired !!!!
