Summary: VERY DISAPPOINTED! I thought I was purchasing a top end model, but the performance is terrible! The processor in this is far to slow for the complex software and it struggles to keep up and crashes frequently, usually after it has received vital traffic info (if the traffic service happens to be working that is).
Summary: This was a complete waste of money. It kept dropping out and unnecessarily recalculating. It failed to work in hot weather and stopped working completely after a few months. 'Lifetime mapping' applies only to the life of the product which was 7 months.
Summary: I paid good hard earned money for this tom tom it worked for a while then didn't , it would not turn on and when eventually it would come on it would flicker and the screen would not react to put address's in and it would freeze etc etc.. i sent it back , weeks later it came back and nothing had been done , i think it just got sent back to me by the post office or the supply company, anyway i sent it off again then i got an email from where i purchased it from, DEREK ,...
Summary: i bought this product in January for use when i get to the USA for April but i arrived yesterday and there was no map for USA there which means i paid for the wrong product and i am very upset as i am now unable to use my product and looking for an American SD card to go with it. I am really upset and need someone to get back to me ASAP.
Summary: I bought this unit because of the live traffic for three years and lifetime maps. The unit didn't last the year, it started shutting down and acting strange. Then it wouldn't connect to any of my computers to update, I followed the advice from customer support and ended up completely killing it. Tomtom then replaced the unit, which I had to update and get setup again.
Summary: The device was faulty out of the box - the power button was unresponsive and booting stopped at the black power-on self test screen. And then I found out tomtom had decided a hard reset button was unfashionable these days. I knew about the battery failing on the 1005 after a year or two, so I had budgeted for a replacement. But instead, when I needed the device most, I was left with a rubbish phone nav and paper A - Z.
Summary: it constantly brings up a screen telling me to connect it to my pc to check for new maps usually when im driving and it is not convient.it also goes to other screens whilst im driving usually when im in traffic and am reling on it.I have been using sat navs daily for eight years now and this is by far the worst I have encoutered just an expensive wast of money.
