Summary: Main reason for the purchase was a reliable signal and lots of features with clear instructions. On the whole its a good sat nav but the start up time is quite slow on occasions due to failure to pick up a signal which is a little disappointing.
Summary: It has to be said that this SatNav is a first class device. TomTom's maps are accurate and clear, and the "Live" traffic and re-routing software is very effective. If need be, it reroutes quickly and finds satellites fast.
Summary: Device itself is brilliant, the problem I had was that the maps were 3 years old when I purchased it, so check map version when you receive it. I must say though Tom Tom were very good at rectifying this.
Summary: I had a basic Tom Tom but I wanted traffic. I stayed with TomTom for familiarity more than anything else. Pros - TomTom just works out of the box. Free maps for life. Nice sized screen. Window attachment works better than any I've had before, and is easy to remove when I get home.
Summary: I love the sat nav itself very much, very useful, advanced motorway lanes is a great help as I am a newly qualified driver. Sadly the mount lets it down, in my opinion. It is too hard to remove from the front window and sometimes I feels like you gonna break it (the window) so hard you have to pull.
If you drive a lot, a very good luxury Sat Nav to have.

Excerpt: I have always considered TomTom Sat Navs as more expensive and luxury products, this particular Sat Nav is no exception. At around £150 this is not a Sat Nav for somebody who will only use it occasionally but you do get a lot of nice additional features over the cheaper brands by paying this.
Summary: I have to say this is not the first Tomtom we have bought so were used to the easy to use interface. The reason we purchased it was that our existing one was too small to take the USA maps and we were travelling there over Christmas.
Summary: I bought this Tomtom Go 1000 Live to replace a 6 year old Navman N20, frustratingly, it didn't work straight out of the box due to a software update required (it wouldn't pick up a GPS signal) after the update and a reset, all works well.
