Summary: My partner broke her existing TomTom cable so we needed a replacement. That was last year some time and this is still doing the trick. Seems a little expensive for a power cable but it works so can't really complain.
Summary: Main reason for the purchase was a reliable signal and lots of features with clear instructions. On the whole its a good sat nav but the start up time is quite slow on occasions due to failure to pick up a signal which is a little disappointing. Shame that a charger is not provided as its not always convenient to charge via a PC or lap top.
Summary: Device itself is brilliant, the problem I had was that the maps were 3 years old when I purchased it, so check map version when you receive it. I must say though Tom Tom were very good at rectifying this. When you see this advertised it states free updates for 1 year, this does not mean the maps, so look into the small print.
Summary: Didn't know how this would work out as my TomTom arrived without a mount. This is however a clever small piece of kit and once you are used to how to connect the recharge wire (which fits through a hole in the unit) it is speedy to assemble and install. But it did take a while to work out the safest and quickest way to do it without dropping the TomTom, some instructions might have been useful.
Summary: I bought my TomTom Go Live 1000 in summer 2011 just after I passed my driving test. I had started a job that required a lot of driving and, as I was so inexperienced on the roads, I wanted to get a top of the range satnav to help me deal with navigating my way around Britain. I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews as I have found my TomTom excellent.
Summary: I had a basic Tom Tom but I wanted traffic. I stayed with TomTom for familiarity more than anything else. Pros - TomTom just works out of the box. Free maps for life. Nice sized screen. Window attachment works better than any I've had before, and is easy to remove when I get home. Great to have road names announced and clearer to see on screen than with my basic model. Cons - Traffic usually works, once in a while there are signal issues.
Summary: I love the sat nav itself very much, very useful, advanced motorway lanes is a great help as I am a newly qualified driver. Sadly the mount lets it down, in my opinion. It is too hard to remove from the front window and sometimes I feels like you gonna break it (the window) so hard you have to pull. I have already broken the mount though and had to order another one. For the price of approx. £25.00 it is not cheap, so be careful.
