Summary: Woo – a beautiful product and solid build quality like my BMW 5 series. Functionality is a vast improvement over my old TomTom 910 Go. Unfortunately, TomTom BV has disabled a lot of features until they sort out the software and map updates are not available. They say wait six months and everything will be alright. Five star potential becomes 2.5 stars in reality.
Pros: Build quality, graphics, functionality
Cons: TomTom software is not ready and no map updates results in a lot of functionality being disabled
Summary: Having spent nearly the last 2 years thinking it was my fault that my Tom Tom Go Live 1000 wouldn't work when not plugged in to the car, instantly lost the plot when i turned the ignition off and so couldn't be used on walkabouts. Early on I made the mistake of splashing out on europe maps 2.9gb and the uk and ireland maps leaving me a mere 73mb currently - well if the Live worked - 'sort of' to begin with suddenly last spring it failed completely just after I had paid...
Summary: From early after receiving this product the battery does not retain it's charge. initially you attribute the problem to not leaving it on charge for long enough or battery memory retention. Have recently read that this is a common problem with this model. so would caution potential buyers from buying this product.
Summary: it does the job. I bought it so I could charge without having to have the bulky mount connected all the time(7100 pro truck) . you have to have the usb -cigar plug converter for it to work off the car (or bike). a bit expensive i thought for just a cable. I since found a connector which has the plug to the tomtom and then just a standard small usb so you can connect your standard charging/traffic cable = much better for my purpose (bike mainly)
