The TomTom GO LIVE 1000 is powered by the ARM 11 500 MHz processor, and supports a Webkit-based user interface on its capacitive touch screen. The unit comes with software and service delivery platform that have been optimised for integration of third party applications and localization to match the needs of specific markets or applications. The unit’s back end server systems has been designed to deliver content and downloadable applications, via cable or over the air.

The TomTom GO LIVE 1000 features TomTom HD Traffic™, which provides users with mobile speed cameras and local search in 16 countries, and new routing feature which provides motorists with the best routing technology possible. The unit also comes with a new user interface and application logic on its capacitive touch screen which offers optimized graphics at high resolution. Other features on the GO LIVE 1000 are the Park Assist feature which automatically informs drivers of car parks near their destination; IQ Routes which applies the historical travel time experience of millions of drivers to calculate the fastest route possible. This includes speed measurements for every time of day, one for every road segment, from large motorways to small local roads; and HD Traffic service which is based on the anonymous measurements of ordinary mobile phones moving through the network. Analysis of this measurement gives accurate traffic information for all major and secondary roads.
