Excerpt: I've been using my TomTom Go Live 950 for around a year now so I've had plenty of opportunity to thoroughly test it out. What sets it apart from other sat navs I've used is TomTom's HD traffic service. The traffic services on other sat navs I've used have tended to be of limited use - I found that information updated erratically and only showed problems on motorways and trunk roads.
Good but why did they take out so many of the old good features?

Summary: My 6 year old GO910 started having some power problems so I decided to upgrade. Looked at the 1005 but was worried by some of the reviews that it wasn't quite ready yet, so opted for the 950. By chance my 910 stopped playing up so I have been running the two side by side for 3 weeks. Overall I like the 950, but not as much as I would have hoped. My 910 has a number of features that do not appear on the 950 and I regret their passing.
Summary: Bought the brute to guide me around Holland and Germany, and, later this year, along the West Coast of the US from Seattle South to LA. It replaces an ancient PDA running 'Destinator'. After extensive research and consideration of options like tablet computers (too big and cumbersome) smart phones (expensive to use on Pay as You Go data download terms and with suspect GPS reception qualities) I chose a Tom Tom device because of their reputation.
Summary: Bought this to replace a broken GO520 and am pleased with the new features, especially the enhanced 3D image on difficult junctions/intersections. Have tried the traffic delay feature on a very busy M25, and was impressed with it's prediction, and it's attempt to find an alternative route - not sure if it did save me any time but it produced a 'backroads' route, which missed the main queue, but then bought me to another queue to rejoin the motorway (perhaps everyone was...
Summary: Within 10 minutes of opening the Box I had my 950 Go Live working as intended. The purchase was in addition to an existing Go 910 so I was pleased to use the same TOM TOM Home software, albeit I had to use another Email address as the Units are not interchangeable. The Live information on my first journey was spot on and I liked the option of being able to use another route if appropriate. The Lane Guidance is smart if you are not familiar with the road you are on.
Summary: Its a nice pice of kit and a huge step up from my old 740, as it has the "live" feature which is brilliant. The price was very good. I do find the instructions that come with Tom Toms, a bit light. If you were very ham-fisted, it would be easy to delete stuff permanently when connecting to Tom Tom Home and updating.. It is also a pain that you can only have one unit per email address on Home. I now have two others that I can't easily update. Could just me being thick....
Summary: Very happy with the TomTom G0 950 Live. It was the cheapest we could find and the only one that included USA and Canada in the price. Found the bracket that holds the unit to the car window not very substaintial. very flimsy and difficult to attach or detach the unit to it. It broke after only the second use, but the SatNav itself is excellent and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Excellent navigator with many features. The best things are the LIVE services like POI search function through google and traffic hd that provides real time information about possible traffic jams And then the live services are free for a year!
Summary: This device does what it says on the box and it was also value for money. I notice on the web site this product has been reduced in price since i bought mine a month or so ago so now this really is good value for money.I also purchased a bluetooth remote control for this item and they both work great together.
Summary: When I first connected the 950 to TomTom Home it took several, I mean SEVERAL attempts to download EUROPE map update. AMERICA was no problem. No reason was given and I could only report it anonymously, so no feed back available. The unit itself is very good and easy to use. Battery life of about 2 hours is OK. I have had three TomToms now so am familiar with their operation. That's it.
