Summary: I chose to buy this product because I needed a good, efficient GPRS navigator with US and European maps. When I used this product in the UK, it was quite impressive but once I updated the US map, it seems like the program slow down a bit.
Summary: I have used iPaq PDA based TT Nav 4>5>6 for years. Battery reliability of the separate GPS unit was becoming an issue, so it was time to upgrade. A little research and I opted for the TT 940 Go Live. Awesome bit of kit.
Summary: Firstly, service from Amazon great - immediate delivery. Sat nav in perfect condition, well packed, and working well. Good to have opportunity on Tom Tom GO 940 of spoken commands, choice of voices, warnings of cameras (immaterial if you stick to speed limits!
Excerpt: I never was much of a fan of the whole sat-nav craze, and the stories of people completely stripped of their common sense driving on train tracks or into rivers certainly fortified my avoidance of them.
Summary: I have eagerly awaited the chance to upgrade to the 940live. I now have one ,i am a bit disappointed with the live services.I did not realise that the google /petrol prices/traffic/speed cameras are only free for three months .Speed cameras and the petrol I was thinking were for a year ,google was...
Dissapointing experience, returned it and bought a Garmin Nuvi 765T

Summary: The bad: - If you have a convertible you can forget about TomTom. The display cannot be read in sunny conditions. In my other car I had a Garmin Nuvi 760 so I put them side by side at 100% brightness - the Garmin was fine, but with the TomTom I could not even see the car icon.
Impressed with the GO 940 Live but still some bugs to iron out

Summary: Excellent performance so far from this unit. Shame the Live services don't yet work across Europe. If tomtom could improve on one thing it should be to extend the live services to match the mapped areas. This until still has some annoying bugs.
Summary: Only had this a day or so, but all seems to be working fine, and certainly not experienced the problems some reviewers are having. I am a relatively high mileage user (40k + per year) most f these miles are on the M62, if any one knows these roads you need all the help you can get to avoid traffic.
Navigation is great but making handsfree calls a nightmare with my Sony Ericsson!

Summary: I had a Tomtom go 720T before and it was great apart from voice breaking when navigates. When this 940 came with new features, I thought I must treat myself with one although it's not cheap. I was really disappointed with few things but not with voice breaking.
