TomTom needs no introduction really as I am sure most of you will know their name. The TomTom Go 920T was their flagship unit at the time that I had it, and indeed was the highest specification  Satellite navigation system available at that time in normal high street retail. It has since been superseded by the 930T, but the majority of the specifications are much the same. Read more

I paid around $500 bills for the Go 920T, so the GPS device is not exactly cheap but is the price really worth paying, well I say of course it is because I feel that this GPS device is well worth the $500 or so bills I dropped on it. First and foremost the GPS is very easy to use and not hard to figure out how to use at all. Trust me, you will not struggle to figure out how the 920T works, it did not take me long at all. As of this writing, the TomTom GO 920T is the top of the line GPS system from TomTom. No holding back, no features left out for other higher end models. And for North American users the 920T and 920 is currently the only model to offer voice prompted address entry. This model also comes with a remote control, an RDS-TMC traffic receiver, and European map coverage in addition to the North American maps. So how well does it all work? Read more

TomTom's Go 720 was our favourite satnav of last year thanks to its easy navigation and MapShare feature, which lets you correct mapping errors on the move. The 920T is TomTom's latest satnav, and sits above the 720 in its standalone satnav range. The two are very similar, but while the 720 has full maps of Western Europe, the 920T also comes with full street-level maps of the US and Canada on its 4GB of internal memory, and there's an SD card slot for any other maps you... I had purchased this unit a few years back, mostly to be able to use the traffic receiver and get automatically rerouted if there would be a long delay. I also liked the voice input for addresses, and the map share features where you download corrections from other users free, and also have the option of purchasing updated maps. Read more

This product should be sponsored by 'Relate' the marriage guidance people. It has navigated us around England, Southern Ireland, California and Nevada. It is awesome in the truest sense of the word. I have had a few of these types of things and have bought them for my parents, this one does all that the others do but does it better and faster and then there all the extra maps. Trust me its is very good. Read more

We where of to the States and Canada , and wanted a sat nav for the 3 weeks fro our 100 mile trek, to hire one with our rental car was going to cost in the region of £150 so we decided to buy one instead, we bought it for just £285 on line from Halfords, and it has been brilliant. All the world maps are preinstalled, we told the machine before we left the uk the destinations we where going to friends and families address and logged them as recent destinations, we did... After using a Garmin Nuvi 360, the TomTom 920 was a major adjustment. The TomTom has screen after screen of configurable options. This much configurability gives you a great amount of control, but it takes time to find what your looking for. The screen is great and provides more detail than anything I've used previously. The Voice address input worked great for me, but my wife had difficulties with accuracy. The unit lacks the ability to measure altitude. Read more

The TomTom GO 920T is an in-dash navigation system with a 4.3 inch full TFT color LCD. The LCD offers a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels and it supports 64k colors. It is integrated with Tom Tom’s new Enhanced Positioning Technology. When GPS signals are unavailable, this technology uses movement and gravity sensors to calculate drivers’ positions. Hence, the device can be continued to use, even when the destinations may not be a direct line-of-sight connection to a satellite. The incorporated Map Share application enables users to make easy changes to the map and share map corrections with other TomTom customers. Besides, it is equipped with voice prompted address entry feature. This feature gives users the option to speak the address to which they want to drive. Furthermore, it provides realistic and clear visual instructions by having high-quality 3D graphics. The TomTom GO 920T incorporates Bluetooth wireless technology via built-in Bluetooth which enables hands-free calling and remote control. It comes together with FM transmitter to enable the playing of music and navigation instructions over the car stereo. Additionally, it is integrated with 4 Gb internal flash memory and USB connectivity. It measures 4.6 x 0.9 x 3.3 inches in dimension and weighs 4 pounds.
