Summary: This GPS unit was a replacement for a same model unit that failed after 1 yrs use. My son drives every day for work and services computers in the Charlotte, NC area and has to find addresses daily, so he relies on a reliable unit. We have nothing but TomTom's dating back to the GO 910 when we need Central European maps due to living in England and Germany. These units are versatile and reliable (except for the failed unit). We will continue to purchase TomTom GPS's.
Summary: I absolutely love this unit, connects to your phone via bluetooth. You can easily customize the unit with voices, favorite places, change vehicles via the computer hook up. Traffic monitoring is absolutely wonderful, just be cautious when it re-routes you due to traffic, because sometimes it can double your travel time ask me how I know ;(((. Would buy another if I had another car.
Summary: I have never used a GPS unit prior to buying the TomTom 730T. I purchased this unit because it seems more flexible than the Garmin units and Amazon has a good price on it. I gave two of my children Garmin units as presents a year or so ago and they speak well of them, but being a gadget guy, I purchased this TomTom because of the ability to install my own POI's, the map update feature, and the regular update of the satellite positions if you synch once a week or so.
Summary: I have been driving for 35+ years and after taking 2 trips using TOMTOM 730T I ask myself how I travelled in the past without GPS? This unit has a very simple learning curve and demonstrates extreme accuracy.
Summary: Not sure, why people criticize it so much. This is a sleek and solid performing piece of electronics. GPS reception is fast, interface is by far better than Garmin's, so many cool features that really work! FM transmitter, Bluetooth, Line out, traffic receiver YOU NAME IT. I've tried the Mio, Garmin, TomTom One and now the GO 730T. it is by far one of the best. If you like gadgets and clearer instructions with top-notch map update software go with TomTom.
