Summary: The touch screen on this thing never worked right from the moment we got it....and it would change screens on it own constantly (as if someone was pushing the lower left corner of screen)...we did all the trouble shooting, too....including using a credit card to clean out around the bezal....
Summary: GO 730 had screen issues from the start. After entering information, this Go 730 could not maintain the navigation map. Voice directions could be heard in the background, but the visual map could not be sustained longer than 3 or 4 minutes at a time without having to press done.
Summary: I really did throw it out the window as I was driving down the freeway. That should give you an indication of how frustrated I was with this miserable thing. Just as soon as the warranty ran out, the unit started malfunctioning.
Summary: We have two TomTom products in my family. My wife has a GO 920T and I gave a GO 720 to my parents. Both units are less than three-years old. The 720 was hardly ever used, in fact it's still in the original box. The 920 spends most of it's time in a hard case on a bookshelf in our den.
Summary: When the unit was received it appeared to be very good. Delivery time was faster than expected. When I started useing the unit I found that the MP3 player portion did not work correctly. It would freeze or not work at all. Also, the headphone output was intermittant.
Summary: When it works, it does what is expected. It is not dependable. It just wont boot up if it's been sitting awhile, even when plugged into a power source. I guess TomTom figures their precious device is too good to use the power source when the battery is drained. Their way of saying, 'keep it charged.
Summary: Got this to replace my aging Tomtom One. The TT one was fine in most situations but it couldn't handle complex freeway junctions in many US states. Instructions to 'take the exit' when there are 4 to choose from wasn't very helpful. Pros: - I like the 3D display.
Summary: TomTom GO 730 has issues. Check the Internet for ghost tapping. This is a known issue that TomTom does not address. Mine tries to call for help at different intervals or gives directions to the nearest PD. Support was no help and takes days to answer questions submitted via email.
Summary: I purchased this unit about a year ago and was completely happy with the purchase until about 3 months ago. As other reviewers have mentioned, I also had a problem with the touch screen changing erratically.
