Summary: I was extremely disappointed and returned the Tom Tom GO 630 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS because after a number of hours attempting to complete the set it up, I failed. I've completed set-ups on a host of devices over the years and I couldn't believe this was so much trouble. Prior to purchasing it I read a review stating the set-up was a big hassle, but I figured I would be able to do it because I don't normally have difficulty navigating set-ups. Was I wrong.
Summary: My wife has no sense of direction so I bought her a TomTom GO630 in 2010. She found it too hard to use so she never used it. I tried it and liked it however it would not pair with my cellphone so it just sat in the drawer. In September of 2013 I thought I'd use it for a trip to an area I was not familiar with however I could not get it to move forward to the next screen when I touched it, it kept going back to the previous screen.
Summary: I can't give any stars to the seller but the product is very good since I have had the Tom Tom since 2009 and I love my TomTom. Recalling that day I was looking for accessories for my GPS on Amazon using my phone I was looking for replacement battery, while I was scrolling through I got notification of a new email thanking me for the purchase of TomTom Go 630.
Summary: The Tom Tom GO630 is supposed to have great applications. The problem is with the touch screen. The unit automatically switches to the help mode. No matter what you do, the unit switches to this mode rendering it useless. This problem is not unique and should have been found by quality control, and a recall issued. Customer service is a nightmare! I was deployed much of the time I was trying to find solutions and the warranty expired.
Summary: The unit has worked alright. I've had the usual issues with it taking a longer route at times, but no big deal. The problem comes when after it keeps nagging you to check for updates, you actually have the misfortune of doing so. After what appeared to be a standard update which went fine, I tried to turn the unit on only to find the update had scrambled my maps. Searching the web, I found this to be a very common issue.
Summary: I sent it back this one had problems, taking a 6 hour trip it started to wigg out keep jumping to menu and serch for police departments. It was defective. To me this on was crappy I bought a Garmin streetpolit c330 and it out performed the TomTom.
Summary: You get what you pay for!! This Tom Tom keeps fluttering back and fourth from screen to screen for no reason and the driving directions that are programed into the machine always have a way of disappearing?? It would be a wonderful product if it worked the way it should, but I have had nothing but problems with it since I bought it.It also goes straight to the local Police department on the screen for no reason at all, so be careful when you touch the screen because you...
Summary: I purchased this device in May 2010. Exactly 1 year after I received it the device malfunctioned. You guessed it, the warranty is for... 1 year. Company response included 7 different procedures, the last of which was to format the device. But then when none of these steps work they tell me that formatting the device invalidates the warranty!
