Summary: Update 18/10/14: I would like to keep my rating of 4/5 stars for the satnav after using it for several weeks now on many long journeys. I would like to highlight some of the key things I have noticed after keeping the satnav up to date. Pros: Spot on maps (only ever came across a road once which was shown incorrect on the map) Speed Limits (Speedlimits shown on the satnav have been 100% correct and it helps a lot when you can't seem to find a road sign for it)...
Excellent SatNav but voice recognition is useless.

Summary: Bought this Tom Tom Go 6000 to replace an ageing Garmin. The lifetime map update is what made me decide to jump ship from Garmin. On opening the box, I was surprised to find there is no home charger included, so you have to either buy that separately or use your USB cable and connect to the computer to charge it via the USB, there is however a car charger included..
Summary: Slightly disappointing in that some features withdrawn from previous TOTOM XXL, Like ability to set a warning at set speeds and the ability to use downloaded POI's. However lovely clear display and regular traffic updates. Takes some getting used to but a lot faster than previous TOMTOM. Hopefully TOMTOM will address these problems in due course.
Summary: When the last major map update ocurred, unbeknown to me, the udate switched off the speed camera software. Ah well I paid £85 to attend a speed awareness course instead of having points on my licence. I called tom tom and the lass made adjustments so that this would not happen again. I do not like not being able to see my complete route whenever I want to and the loss of AVERAGE SPEED when in an average speed camera zone is too annoying to contemplate further.
Summary: My Tom Tom One I had used since 2004 and had always had good value from it. However the voice no longer worked and so I made the decision to upgrade. Open the box and the updated unit looks very impressive, almost a HD mini TV for your car. At least it keeps the wife occupied and I can read it easily without my reading glasses.
