Summary: I prefer the larger screen on this model. As a sat nav I really would be lost without it. Would have preferred a longer period on the speed camera warnings though. 3 months soon passes. I have made the choice of not renewing as yet. I might rue this? But at the purchase price of this instrument I would have expected a little more leeway on the speed cameras feature. UK only features would suit my needs. Why do I need to keep downloading Europe all the time?

Summary: I have purchased over the years 5 different Tom Tom models and every one seems to have fewer features than the previous one. The selling point is free life time maps and free lifetime traffic updates. When searching for an address it searches the whole of Europe and you have to be right with the spelling or it does not give you other choices. The last model I was using was the 1005 and it takes you down to the city and then address that also is the search for Poi’s.
Summary: a big step backwards, still slow, lots of things missing from previous versions. If you have owned a tomtom before then read the manual as it is NOTHING like any of the old models !!!!!! Awful awful. Great to see you can add more than 3 waypoints but what a nightmare.....free map updates wahoooo but the 1005 go was much better, much easier to operate, more simple and user friendly.
Summary: I've read the earlier reviews and had some doubts before my GO6000 arrived as a Christmas present. I have waited a few weeks and made a trip to France to get a good impression before writing a review.

Summary: Wow! My Christmas present. Just used it for the first time, a 175 mile each way trip. The difference from my last XXL is remarkable. I used to hate fitting it to the windscreen as it was so awkward, a lot of thought has gone into the new one. When I fitted it the first time I kept checking it as it was so easy to mount. I knew when we were approaching speed restricted zones. Constantly telling you of speed cameras and what type it is.
TomTom - the best routing, excelent traffic, but Missing Features.

Summary: Original review was about update time. MISSING FEATURES: I don't mean "wish list", I mean things older devices had that this does not. Two which irk me. Operate via the computer - sometimes a lot quicker to do want you want using a QWERTY keyboard. My old TomTom One had this. More importantly, itinerary planning. Older devices had this.
Excellent device with free maps updates and live travel information

Summary: I was initially a bit hesitant about spending this much on a Sat Nav, but I decided to take the plunge and get this top of the range TomTom model - and I am glad I did. The screen is very large and clear, and the touch interface is very responsive. It is somewhat different to older TomTom models which may put users off at first, but it is very simple to use and does everything you need it to. The build quality is excellent, as is the in car mount.
Summary: I've had an old TomTom that I was very happy with, but this GO 6000 is taking navigation to a new level. The map has changed and looks amazing. But the best thing for me is the Lifetime Traffic. It gives you an overview of the traffic on your route and your surroundings. And whilst driving it tells you when a quicker route is available. It is just nice to know what you can expect. Well done TomTom.
