Summary: This is our third Tom Tom and we couldn't imagine doing the 30,000 miles a year we do without one. We got one of the first Go 300 units, then we upgraded to a 530 a couple of years ago. The mapping etc was excellent however the traffic info wasn't that reliable so we decided to upgrade to a 540 Live. Trouble was that when we plugged it in everything worked fine except the live services.
Summary: I bought this in the hope that the live traffic updates would re-route me around the fairly common traffic jams on what is otherwise by far the fastest route to my work. It has not once successfully re-routed me. The final straw was this morning when for the third day in a row it failed to warn me of an hour long delay on the A322 and continued to insist that there was no congestion on the route and that this route was the fastest.
Summary: I bought one of these for the advanced features of "live" update and because it was listed as compatible with my iPhone 3G. It works most of the time as a satnav (though has a tendency to crash and reboot at in-opportune times) but it won't work reliably as a hands free for the iPhone 3G. It works sporadically but often refuses to pair (the iPhone see's it fine but it doesn't see the phone).
Summary: Received my unit yesterday and am not too impressed so far. The HD Traffic service seems to be down - it gives a strange error about coverage not being available in my area (Reading) Googling the error revealed that many other users are encountering the same problems and that availability of the HD traffic service is pretty intermittent. It's the weekend so maybe they are doing some upgrades ready for the monday morning rush - we'll see.....

Summary: Das Gerät ist gut und einfach zu bedienen. Allerdings zeigte es von Anfang an den Fehler, dass es sich mittendrin einfach selbst neustartete. Nach und nach zeigte sich dieses Verhalten immer öfter und vor allem länger. Gerade nach längeren Pausen muss man manchmal sehr, sehr lange warten, bis das Gerät funktionsfähig ist. Sehr ungünstig, wenn man Termine hat. Von daher nicht zu empfehlen. Meine recherchen haben ergeben, dass dies wohl ein häufiger Fehler dieses Typs ist.
