Excerpt: The only reason I bought this particular model was because a friend of mine had done ALOT of research when they bought one and when I borrowed it, I actually really liked it and ended up buying one myself...
Pros: good features, excellent support service from Tom Tom
Summary: Having fully road tested the TomTom Go530 all over the country whilst delivering wine I'm suitably impressed. Being a big fan of the old TomTom navigation and view, it had to be a Tom Tom again this time round and I wasn't disappointed.
Summary: As this is my first sat nav unit I have found it be very good. I am in and out the car a lot everyday for work as yet I've had no problems with the mounting system coming detached from the window unlike a previous post. It is easy to use and has a very clear display.
Summary: I hate driving! I can't tell you how stressed out and panicky I get about being lost/wrong lane/ missing a junction or turn etc etc. HATE HATE HATE IT. So when my Boss told me I'd got a training course 65 miles away I sighed with despair as the train service was non existent!
Summary: I wouldn't want to be without it now I've got it, wonderful for not getting lost in the UK wilderness, however it has one problem. It picks out extremely narrow single track roads in very rural areas when good B roads are nearby and much faster and safer.
Excerpt: I was very dubious when buying this to begin with. I've always driven using road signs, maps and a good sence of direction. Apon buying the Tom Tom Go 530 in late 2008 and turning it on I very quickly changed my mind. The device is very simple to set-up.
Pros: Extremely easy to use, visually looks nice, has GPS updates via PC etc .
Cons: Wish it came with a hard carry case for when not plugged in
Summary: As I said above, the first one arrived but had a major fault..Although a replacement was fairly prompt to arrive naturally the extra admin involved was tedious. But a fairly smooth, straightforward exchange process operated by Amazon was a refreshing change.
Summary: Most of the time it did good, the best thing is you can use it a mp3 player through the FM, the things which I did not like the you can not shut off the voice instruction alone while you listen to music, you can either shut them together or enable them both.
Summary: I've had a TomTom 530 for about 3 years and I'm generally very pleased with it. The only 'bad' thing I've discovered are the updates - I did the first update last week after finding that the map on the sat nav didn't coincide with the road I was on!
