Excerpt: Some of the Bluetooth functionality is not accessible when using my phone, saying that I am using a fairly old Samsung. Still it maybe worth checking the compatibility of your handset with the Tom Tom before you purchase. So apart from the minor annoyance of the clarity of the phone I have been extremely impressed with the Tom Tom, its not the cheapest but if you are looking for a quality sat nav with the features I have mention then I highly recommend it.
Summary: People moan about satnavs but mine has got me to my destination many a time, the online updates keep you informed of any alterations to the roads. On the downside I have been told to turn right in Hastings "into the sea" so watch out. I would not be without mine though.

Summary: So far I am very pleased with my purchase. I have not been able to take any long journeys due to the recent bad weather but I am sure from what I have seen of the device it will give me much more confidence when I am back on the road.
Summary: I brought this sat nav for my parents as they have had the newest version of tom tom before and found it to be toataly unreliable. This is the same model that I have had for years and have never had a problem. The sat nav came very well packaged and in only a couple days after ordering. Have only used it once so far but have found that it works impecabily.
Summary: I've had a TomTom 530 for about 3 years and I'm generally very pleased with it. The only 'bad' thing I've discovered are the updates - I did the first update last week after finding that the map on the sat nav didn't coincide with the road I was on! So, after paying just less than £40.00 I updated my TomTom to find that all my saved information had been deleted - it was like starting out with a new sat nav.
Summary: While the actual navigation side is great, the unit is completely unreliable. It freezes on start up frequently and cannot connect to the computer to be re-installed. It's been back to TomTom, seemed to work for a bit but is now back to being a very expensive paperweight!
Summary: I've had my tomtom go 530 for two years and it has just broken whilst connected to my computer for an update; I left it updating, came back and it wouldn't turn on. The standard warranty is 12 months so I guess I lose out there. So there goes about £250! The suction pad frequently drops of the windscreen. This is a hazard whilst driving and also risks damaging the satnav.
Summary: --Whats in the box -- On opening the box, once you have delved deep enough to get past the various manuals, you will come to the main tomtom unit. the mounting cradle which will fix the tomtom to your windscreen, a SD card pre installed with software and maps, a mains adaptor with British and European plugs, an in car charger, a wallet to put the tomtom in when not in use, a USB cable to connect to your PC and some screen wipes.
