Excerpt: I didn’t spend much time researching which Sat Nav system to buy for use in the car. But having used a few other systems which I have borrowed in the past it was the Tom Tom brand which had impressed me the most.
Summary: People moan about satnavs but mine has got me to my destination many a time, the online updates keep you informed of any alterations to the roads. On the downside I have been told to turn right in Hastings "into the sea" so watch out. I would not be without mine though.
Summary: So far I am very pleased with my purchase. I have not been able to take any long journeys due to the recent bad weather but I am sure from what I have seen of the device it will give me much more confidence when I am back on the road.
Summary: I brought this sat nav for my parents as they have had the newest version of tom tom before and found it to be toataly unreliable. This is the same model that I have had for years and have never had a problem. The sat nav came very well packaged and in only a couple days after ordering. Have only used it once so far but have found that it works impecabily.
Excerpt: "The only reason I bought this particular model was because a friend of mine had done ALOT of research when they bought one and when I borrowed it, I actually really liked it and ended up buying one myself... I've owned this model for over a year after having the first one replaced by Tom Tom due to a malfunction and it cost me £229.00 from Halfords online... It comes with a holder to attach it to your windscreen along with a charger for the car ...
Pros: good features, excellent support service from Tom Tom
Summary: Excellent item although make sure you get the right one. I wanted the TomTom Go 530 as it has an RTS traffic update report - giving you live traffic info updates such as jams etc. However I have since discovered that this feature is only available on the TomTom Go 530 T - which was disappointing as I spent a long time trying to make sure I bought the right model.
Excerpt: "I was very dubious when buying this to begin with. I've always driven using road signs, maps and a good sence of direction. Apon buying the Tom Tom Go 530 in late 2008 and turning it on I very quickly changed my mind. The device is very simple to set-up. It only takes approx 5 minutes to set a home position, your own details and various other customisable options (such as backgrounds, colour screens, voices etc etc) The first proper use I had was ...
Pros: Extremely easy to use, visually looks nice, has GPS updates via PC etc .
Cons: Wish it came with a hard carry case for when not plugged in
Summary: Most of the time it did good, the best thing is you can use it a mp3 player through the FM, the things which I did not like the you can not shut off the voice instruction alone while you listen to music, you can either shut them together or enable them both. Other thing you have to be careful if make a mistake in any roundabout TomTom will not help you much it's slow and you will end up stopping somewhere after you take one of the exits as looping in the roundabout will...
Summary: Just what I was looking for! Maps are fairly accurate, and you can amend anything you find wrong and then share it with the wider community, after it hasa been verified by TomTom (although this seems to take a while). Very easy to set up, change routes, save and change preferences etc.
