Summary: I have been disappointed in my TomTom for a number of reasons; so many in fact, that I don't know where to start... Perhaps the Ben and Jerry's in the POI for Mammoth Lakes, CA when we were on vacation that landed us in the middle of an apartment complex (perhaps they have a condo there...?).
Summary: I purchased a GO510 on May 15, 2007 at a discount. For two days the unit worked great. Then my cross-country road trip disaster: Unit refused to start up most of time without a reset. Vehicle charger does not charge unit. Unit droops down over a period of an hour on the windshield mount.
If you want extensive POIs or clear bluetooth, this is not the unit for you.

Summary: I had the TomTom Go 510 for about 5 days before I decided to return it. Overall, the user interface is great, and very easy to understand and configure. The setup was easy, and I also thought that the windshield suction-cup mount worked well, which I know a lot of other people complained about.
Summary: Having raved about my earlier version of TomTom GO for several years before it was stolen, I write to warn readers of problems with the GO 510 and with TomTom customer support. Possibly because they chose to put all of the USA and Canada on a single SD, they appear to have cut back on the Points of...
Summary: I bought this not only for the sat nav, but also for the speed camera database and traffic jam info. The sat nav is ok, it tried to take me off the M25, up the A10, when this junction has been shut for months, (didn't show it as a road block) it also didn't have a fair part of a road on the mapping...
Good whilst it works but it doesn't work for long enough!

Summary: As some of the other reviewers have stated the Tom Tom 510 works great until it packs up! Its the end of July now and it seems that Tom Tom haven't sorted out some of their quality control problems. I am on my second unit but both have stopped working without any warning.
Summary: I've been using the 510 for two weeks now and despite two major problems the thing works well. The poor docking has already been mentioned by other reviewers so I'll discuss the phone support. Bluetooth support for many phones has been (deliberately?) removed on the new 510.
Summary: Having bought and enjoyed the 510 I became concerned that the lock on the docking station had become so loose that the power into the unit was intermittant. In due course the unit started shutting down because of the problem. I received a new docking station which solved the problem for a while.
Summary: The TomTom 510 is my foray into GPS and I must say it definitely is an out of the box solution. You're on the go with the thing in a matter of seconds. The maps look pretty accurate and it's straightforward to use. Here's the downside.
