Summary: On first use on a journey of One Hour device stopped working, just went blank. I had it plugged into power for the whole journey and green LED was on. Couldnt turn it on, either plugged into car or into mains adaptor.
Summary: Item very difficult to set up, wouldn't connect to my laptop and it isn't an old laptop. Doesn't come pre loaded with worldwide maps just UK and Ireland. Very very poor from TomTom but Halfords were absolutely excellent.
Summary: I was looking for a replacement for a long past it NAVMAN, this looked excellent because of the world maps and free lifetime updates but returned the day after purchase as faulty. The unit failed to give voice directions even though the visual directions worked fine.
Summary: Bought my Go510 on November 14 as a Christmas present for the wife. It comes with only 90 days of warranty. Today is April 6 and the thing is broken. For a few days it had trouble finding the satellites, then just went dead. It was never abused, never left the car.
Summary: I have had nothing but trouble with this unit. It could not navigate on the olympic peninsula in Washington state. Resets itself too often. Finally, when I really needed it one night, it died. Not a power issue as it was plugged into the car with the charge light on.
Summary: I am greatly disapointed in the quality of the product. The device frequently takes 5+ minutes to locate my position when I turn it on. I shouldn't have to get the device out to the car and turn it on several minutes before I leave so that I can get directions to my next destination.
Summary: We were so happy when we bought our first GPS unit 8 months ago. But our experience with TomTom GO510 has been a frustrating one. The unit requires frequent resets, sometimes right in the middle of unfamiliar places.
Don't be fooled by the features: the 510 is a poor purchase

Summary: I bought this to replace an old Magellan Navigator, and after using it for one month, I've found it to be inferior in almost every way. To give you a sense of the problems: 1) The TT 510 doesn't recognize a lot of rural street names around my area, referring to them instead by route number.
Excerpt: I bought the TomTom 510 3 weeks ago and have been trying unsuccessfully to connect to Tom Tom to register and programme the device ever since. After many emails with TomTom who have not been able to resolve the problem I think it will be returning it under the guarantee.
Excerpt: I love the GPS, and I love the way TomTom works, but My Drive software is rubbish. It will not stay connected with my new MS Surface 3 running Windows 10 during updates. It lasts about a minute and then says that it is disconnected. The time I have wasted is incredible!!
