Pros: When it worked (which wasn't often) it did a good job.
Cons: Did not work when new. Had to send in new unit for repairs right out of the box. Got back a refurbished unit. Long story short had to send it in a couple more times, and the last time I called they said warranty was up, and they would not help.
Summary: We were so happy when we bought our first GPS unit 8 months ago. But our experience with TomTom GO510 has been a frustrating one. The unit requires frequent resets, sometimes right in the middle of unfamiliar places. If we ever forgot to bring a pin, we had to resort to the good old map to get us out of the jam. To TomTom's credit, it did replace promptly our dead unit after initial 2 months of use.
Don't be fooled by the features: the 510 is a poor purchase

Summary: I bought this to replace an old Magellan Navigator, and after using it for one month, I've found it to be inferior in almost every way. To give you a sense of the problems: 1) The TT 510 doesn't recognize a lot of rural street names around my area, referring to them instead by route number. This is fine if you've been told the number, but if you just have a street name, the TT will be no help at all. 2) In Manhattan, the TT 510 can't ever seem to find itself.
